Old Tech Works

chids, Dooyoo
11 July 2008
  • Excerpt: Although this adaptor is now particularly outdated and thus, is not available in shops anymore: it is a reminder that old technology can still work. The adaptor is quite small - measuring about the same as a pack of cigarettes - it can easily be tucked away or left out without attracting attention to itself. Setup of the device is relatively easy. All you do it plug it into a computer and use the software to configure which network to join.

Curiously, Linksys also supply a LAN connector, which might seem a strange thing to add on a bit of wireless kit, but I did mention earlier that only Windows XP users can have the fully-implemented wireless link. Lesser mortals would be stuck with a hard-wired LAN connection. I’m not sure that at £125 this would represent good value for money in such cases, although it is still way cheaper than SliMP3 last time I looked. SETTING ...
