Old Tech Works

chids, Dooyoo
11 July 2008
  • Excerpt: Although this adaptor is now particularly outdated and thus, is not available in shops anymore: it is a reminder that old technology can still work. The adaptor is quite small - measuring about the same as a pack of cigarettes - it can easily be tucked away or left out without attracting attention to itself. Setup of the device is relatively easy. All you do it plug it into a computer and use the software to configure which network to join.

Freedom of cables to connect your PS2 or Xbox

Batch, Ciao
3 August 2005
  • Excerpt: Ever wanted to get your PS2 online and connected without having to connect with a cable from your PS2 in, say, your bedroom and the router or modem is downstairs? Well you can. The Linksys Wireless Gaming Adapter is the only thing you need to play online gaming on. What this accessory can do is genius.
  • Pros: Picks up any wireless Internet connection, works well with PS2, LAN play as well
  • Cons: None

Music From The Ether - Your Own Pirate Station

BNibbles, Ciao
22 November 2003
  • Excerpt: OK, I admit it, I’m a ditherer. God knows how I ever escaped buying a Betamax VCR or a Sinclair C5, but I did. This next opinion is definitely a ‘change horses midstream’ job. A while back, I wrote about a device called SliMP3, which was designed to stream .mp3 and .wma file music from my home LAN (all of 3 PCs!) to my hi-fi, killing several birds with one stone.
  • Pros: Potential to unclutter the lounge
  • Cons: Another bloody remote control on the sofa arm !
