Summary: I needed a bridge in a closet with multiple ethernet ports for my panasonic blu-ray dvd player and sony bravia internet video link. The bridge worked perfectly and I can access BD-Live on my dvd player and I can watch and download movies and internet content on my Sony Bravia LCD. If you dont have an internet connection and need to connect multiple devices with ethernet cables, this will do the job.
Pros: Its easy to set-up, easily linked with another linksys router and quickly picks-up a signal even in a closet.
Cons: The software it comes with is not as useful as the linksys router software. It is not a point and click set-up, you need to have some understanding of setting-up a network to be able to connect. You will need to log into the bridges settings on-line and enter your network security and password information.
Summary: I purchased this product in an attempt to unite my home network, consisting of three different locations: two computers and two printers. This device provided a bridge for my two printers such that any wireless device or wired device could easily print to the remotely located printers. The speeds are adequate for printing larger files.
Summary: I sat on the phone with 3 different people from tech support from Cysco for over 3 hours. I even gave remote control of my computer to them. I could not get it to work, they could not get it to work. They told me it was a bad unit and to return it to Walmart for a refund. Which I did do. I bought a D-Link and was up and running in 10 minutes. I would not recommend this product to anyone.
Summary: It took some tweaking to set up for connecting a DVR to a secured wireless network (for OnDemand capability). It isn't anything to daunting for someone moderately familiar with wireless networking, but there probably isn't sufficient information for everybody. Once it got running, there haven't been any issues.
Summary: OK it was easy to set up WEP. That's about all I can say that is good. NONE of the WPA settings worked. I have two of these and I can not get them to talk to eachother with any security mode other than WEP. [...] Don't buy this if you want to use any security other than WEP.
Summary: Linksys WET200 802.11g Wireless Bridge is about twice as large as the older 802.11b Linksys bridge. When I got it, it took about 15 minutes to set up including 5 minutes I spent wondering what the included plastic legs are for (I never figured that out and threw them away). The device comes with a quick install guide as well as a full PDF manual on a CD. The quick install guide is both simple and operating system-independent.
