Great WiFi extender and hub for my downstairs office
2 July 2014
Summary: Great WiFi extender and hub for my downstairs office. I do have an occasional glitch where it looses its connection with the main WiFi router and it takes a minute to reconnect. Not a big issue, however I would like to see the downtime reduce if not made unnoticeable.
Summary: This little bridge works great. I didn't want cables running through the living room and this gem worked a treat. Was a little touchy gettin it setup exactly how I wanted it but it really does the trick.
Summary: I purchased this bridge to get around the inherently poor wireless performance of my PS3, which could only manage 5-7 Mbps (according to the PS3 network test) throughput on a cable modem/wireless-n network that regularly delivers 23-25 Mbps to other connected devices.
Summary: I bought a WES610N several months ago. I was able to set it up according to the directions as a WIFI bridge to my livingroom entertainment system (which has a computer as well as few internet-capable pieces of equipment). It sort-of worked. We were able to stream Netflix in HD some of the time.
Summary: This is a very nice bridge router. I thought this had both an extender and a multi port ethernet bridge. If you just need a bridge then this is a very good product. I have always used Linksys products. I hardly had any issues with them even after using them for many years.
Summary: One item not in the documentation is that you must not plug any devices into the bridge after you have programmed it to interact with your network until you have moved it to where it will live and have turned it on.
Pros: Good connection for audio/video components to the internet. All the bandwidth I need, and reasonably fast speeds throughout the condominium.
Cons: Poor documentation, and not intuitive setup. Linksys did not even include a pdf of the User Manual on the included CD -- they make you download it from the net. The CD is completely useless - it has only a "troubleshooting guide" that covers only a few common issues. The "User Manual" icon is onl...
Summary: Twice now, my computer couldn't connect to the router through the bridge but I believe it's a problem with my computer because both times, I couldn't access the Network Connections directory on the computer without crashing Internet Explorer...no stars were removed for this.
Pros: I bought this bridge to replace the useless d-link wireless card I had in my desktop. I searched newegg for hours looking for a good wireless card that had very few issues but they all seem to be junk. This bridge is about twice the price but it's also a little more future proof considering it ca...
Cons: The auto-connect button tried to connect to my neighbors router. It was easy enough to fix, I just navigated to the bridge IP and ran the setup through there. Works great after that. All the documentation is included on a disc...not necessarily a con but not as easy as a piece of paper.
