Refurbished???

Tyler T., Newegg
4 October 2013
  • Pros: The device showed up in the mail.
  • Cons: I have ordered refurbished products in the past but have not had one show up dirty and dusty. This AP is not refurbished it is used with a factory reset done. Action Packaged Inc. should advertise these properly or actually refurbish them properly.

Dead

Jeffrey V., Newegg
28 June 2011
  • Summary: Maybe next time I shouldn't buy a refurb as apparently they will break again.
  • Pros: When it worked it did the job.
  • Cons: This thing died somewhere between 1-1.5 years in. We hardly used it and it was just for clients who wanted to access the Internet at our office. Very disappointing as Linksys is a popular brand and I thought this would be a solid purchase. We have a similar one at another office that is still goi...

DOA - what a waste

Mac R., Newegg
27 December 2010
  • Pros: None - never worked.
  • Cons: Finally moved into a new home and cracked open the box to set this WAP up. Plugged it into an outlet and no lights came on. Tried another outlet...nothing. DOA. I expected more from a Cisco-owned company. I'll think twice before buying their products again.

  • Cons: the Act light did not light and unit was DOA.

Dead on arrival

Keith B., Newegg
26 October 2010
  • Summary: Got the AP, plugged it in and followed the directions in the setup, and it gave a red power status light with orange link light. I look it up, and that is the signal it gives when it is bricked. I was wanting a basic AP, and planned on using stock firmware.
  • Pros: Cheap, from a decent brand, support for other firmware
  • Cons: Came prebricked!

don't try ddwrt on WAP54g

Anonymous, Newegg
16 May 2010
  • Summary: I'm disappointed in Linksys. Why do have have to purchase two WAP54g units to form a bridge for my PC (with no wireless adapters), when I own a WRT54g? Very frustrating. I'm going to research purchasing a new router, and Zyxel is at the top of the research list!
  • Pros: It (only) works with other WAP54G units, or occasionally with the WRT54g unit, depending on the feature you desire....
  • Cons: Tried using ddwrt. It bricked my unit. Maybe I should have listened to the instructions for using ddwrt say "USE AT YOUR OWN RISK". The instructions are a list of things to do with a bunch of annotations saying things like "it didn't work for me, so I did this and it worked!". So, if you like hac...

Pile of Junk

Hubert O., Newegg
1 May 2010
  • Summary: Please don't waste your time with this horrible device. Buy something good.
  • Pros: I suppose it might function as an access point. I bought it as a bridge, which it claims it can do. It lies. Pro: Newegg has a good return policy and will surely give me my money back.
  • Cons: This is, without a doubt, the worst Wi-Fi equipment I have ever had the misfortune to purchase. It is garbage. I bought it to be a wireless bridge, as the specifications state it can do. Turns out, it can only bridge with a SPECIFIC LINKSYS WIRELESS ROUTER. Nowhere is this stated except in the ac...

Horrible

mdenisse, Ebay
5 April 2010
  • Summary: I recently purchased this Cisco WRV210 Wireless Router and IT DOES NOT WORK AT ALL. WHEN I TRIED TO RETURN IT I WAS IGNORED SO I ENDED UP HAVING TO KEEP A NON-WORKING ROUTER. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE SERVICE!
