The Linksys WAG160N is another 802.11n compliant ADSL2+ modem router, which provides the ability of connecting to the internet through a telephone cable (RJ-11) and simultaneously link to your wireless LAN network to share files and resources. Matching its sibling WAG120N in terms of hardware features and connectivity options, it stirs up an even competition in the entry level category. Read more

Like D-Link, Linksys has improved the Mac side of its products since we last reviewed one of its routers. In fact, it’s completely redesigned both the hardware and software for its new WAG160N Wireless-N ADSL 2+ Gateway. Read more

    • Attractive design, competitive price, four Ethernet ports included, Mac set-up software supplied
    • Slightly complicated set-up procedure a bit too much technical jargon for our liking

The Linksys WAG160N is a good-looking and easy to configure router, but you pay a price premium for this convenience. Given that the result is only so-so draft-n performance, we’d look elsewhere. Read more

Pros: Stylish and compact design; easy to install; price Cons: No Gigabit switch; interface could be better Overall: No Gigabit Lan and the interface could be better, but at this price it’s a decent entry-level Draft N router Read more

With its latest range of routers, the Linksys design department appears to have thrown away the rule book. The Linksys WAG160N and its sister devices now sport a curvy, sleek, lounge-friendly appearance, quite unlike their boxy predecessors. These smooth lines aren't spoiled by the presence of aerials, either - a pair of 2dBi gain aerials is built into the chassis. Read more

The Linksys WAG160N N300 is an ADSL2+ wireless modem router, meaning it has a a modem built in. It is for use with BT Internet connections rather than for use with a Cable broadband connection (i.e. Virgin) although a Cable version is also available. It’s an ADSL2 router, which means it supports the newer ADSL standard, which could mean faster transfer speeds although this really depends on your line quality, distance from Exchange, service with ISP, etc. Read more

    • I had wireless problems, Gets a bit warm, no restart router option in config

This was very easy to set up and make the network secure, and I am by no means an IT expert. Was able to set it up and working with a wired desktop and a wireless laptop within 30 Min's from start to finish. Good features like being able to limit the times and days that a particular computer is allowed onto the Internet, no dodgy external aerials, modem and router built into one unit and all for under $200.00au. • No external aerials,, Great design (sleek and very low profile),, easy to configure and secure network,, easy to navigate and set up configuration via web based config...
    • Not able to connect and external Aeriel to boost range if needed,, does take up a largish footprint on the desk.
