Unreliable and slow when it does work.

Cameron B., Newegg
22 March 2015
  • Pros: Small and compact. Sort of easy to setup.
  • Cons: This is incredibly slow. I am on 50Mbps in my apartment, using this temporarily until I can get the go ahead to run Cat6 cable through the walls from the leasing center (I am a professional). The only alternative is to run a cable through the hallway, and I don't want to do that, so I decided to ...

slow, poorly designed, and extremely expensive

Deborah H., Newegg
20 February 2015
  • Summary: Unfortunately, I bought this device before learning online that it is slow, poorly designed, and extremely expensive compared to ANY other product on the market. (I now have a generic device from Newegg that is tiny, twice the speed and performance, and less than half the cost.
  • Pros: It does work with 2.4 and 5.2 networks, albeit slowly, and it does fit in a standard USB drive.
  • Cons: Unfortunately, I bought this device before learning online that it is slow, poorly designed, and extremely expensive compared to ANY other product on the market. (I now have a generic device from Newegg that is tiny, twice the speed and performance, and less than half the cost.) I bought it from ...

  • Summary: The drive works fine. You are all experiencing disconnects because your computers see this device as a USB peripheral. While this is technically true, this wireless USB networking device that require to have power 100% of the time.

After getting support escallated, I was able to get this adapter to work great.

Dust Storm (aka Haboob), Amazon
13 January 2015
  • Summary: NOTE: This is a revised review. I initially gave this product a two star review because I could not get it to work on my computer and Linksys support was terrible when I called. After posting this review, Linksys contacted me and had a very knowledgeable and friendly Tech Support specialist fix the...

Don't Buy This

Laura S., Newegg
9 January 2015
  • Pros: Looks nice, I guess.
  • Cons: Don't waste your time with this one. It's overpriced and mine stopped working after a few months. Even when it was brand new, it was dropping the connection all the time. I RMA-ed it (which was a very painful process, to say the least) and I'm receiving a new one. We'll see how it works. The only...

Heinous. Do not buy.

John C., Newegg
29 December 2014
  • Summary: I would not accept this adapter if it was free. Do not buy.
  • Pros: It connects to wireless networks.
  • Cons: I have never had a worse adapter. It drops connections like an insecure guy at a singles bar. Most of the time I get thirty minutes at best from the adapter, sometimes as little as two or three. It seems to drop the connection entirely of its own accord- unplugging it and plugging it back in seem...

AE6000 is NOT for windows 8.1

Scott K., Newegg
19 December 2014
  • Summary: after reading linksys forums it appears to be a widespread problem that has been known for a while. it will work on some 8.1 machines if they had it installed before the 8.1 update.
  • Pros: Probably would be some if it worked
  • Cons: It will make your 5ghz network disappear in windows 8.1 which is the standard windows product. It's been out over a year and there is no update for 8.1 drivers, imagine your surprise when you plug it in and your 5ghz network is gone.
