Summary: nice design. cable allows you to put it high or low or otherwise. one star off, has to be reconnected manually on boot up sometimes and not always 300mbs even though it is not more than ten feet from WIFI.
Summary: There are a few issues with this product. 1. Device disappears from device manager. Must be removed and reinserted for it to work again. 2. Does not do well with medium or low signal strength. 3. Does not always automatically connect to a wireless network that has been defined. When I purchased this device, I figured it would perform best with the wireless Cisco router I have because of the fact that they are the same brand, but I must say due to the issues listed above,...
Summary: Started set up would not find adapter. Tried a few other things nothing worked. Typed in problem on google and I had nothing to do with product it was my Zone Alarm!!! Uninstalled Zone Alarm and the disc started working right away and desktop found adapter right away!!! Only took about 5 min total to do After removal of ZA. When I was finished I re-installed Zone Alarm and had no problem so far. Works Great. I will update if anything changes.
Summary: I've been a Cisco product user for many years now. Excellent products, and I never have any issues with Cisco devices. I ordered this to have a backup adapter, "just in case". Never know when family or friends will need one, and I like to keep a spare around here. So a friend called and said she couldn't get online. I was able to determine that it was her ancient Netgear adapter that had failed, and told her I'd bring the spare over to her house. WHAM!!!
Summary: We need to contact CISCO and download the latest release of the driver for the computer that is running Windows XP with Service Pack 3. And there is no driver for Windows servers on the driver disk with the product.
Summary: So far so good! Well worth the investment! Installed on a dinosaur of a computer for the kiddos to use, so I had to do a couple updates before running the software, but it has been working just great. Reception is good even trnsmitting between several walls (and one level down from the router location). Works well for my old, neglected computer that has been brought back to life!

Summary: this turned out to be a "great deal..." after "some tinkering with the router, etc. 1. I got this ae1000 refurb...because it's cheap... and my old external usb wireless stopped working (didn't know that for a while... realized it had to be failing, since my "onboard wireless" chips on two laptops were STILL getting the wireless signal from the router...reasonably well...). 2. a few points on the ae1000... a. it set up easily with the included disc software...
