Summary: It's worth mentioning that I don't trust a lot of wireless products since what I've described in my cons section seems to happen with a lot of them. In my case, I think the problem was caused by the router and not the NIC since it works just fine on my hacked - and perfectly stable - ddwrt router.
Pros: Mobile antenna, PCI-E, and wireless N. Works well with my Wireless G network and ddwrt hacked router.
Cons: It wasn't too fond of my wireless N network. Every so often there would be a brief interruption in signal which would result in either a massive lag spike or disconnects from online video games. It didn't happen very often, but when it did, it was quite annoying.
Summary: I wanted a very reliable adapter for the desktop I built for my wife and this fits the bill.
Pros: This wireless adapter has performed very well so far. It is a notch above the average wireless adapter in quality and I am glad I bought it. Great reception and connects very quickly after powering on my desktop.
Pros: I installed the card and Windows found the card but would not show any networks. I knew there were networks. I tried changing slots, drivers, and searched all over the internet. I was about to give up thinking it was an AMD compatabilitily issue (I have an AMD FX8350 8 core running in an ASRock 9...
Pros: I installed this card in a new desktop that already had a wireless card that couldn't find its own shadow. I take this computer in my RV to use at an RV park that has less then stellar Wi-Fi service. I could hook-up to the provided Wi-Fi with four or five bars consistently. The other folks, using...
Summary: I had one machine that was at the edge of what was stable with a no-brand 54G card. Bought this one. Speeds tripled(60mbps vs 18mbps measured), and the connection has not dropped in over a month.
Pros: Plugged it in, worked on the first try. Better speed, stability, and range than the off-brand 54G card I had originally. Works great with XP and Win7. Intel network gear always seems to work. The couple bucks price premium is well worth not having headaches later.
Summary: I really couldn't ask for a better wifi card. It is worth the extra even without all the features like the included antenna and the fact that it is really a mini card mounted on an adapter. I am able to get a full speed signal through two floors of my home.
Pros: Included wired antenna Removable Mini card low profile bracket included Very good performance
