Summary: Finding a wireless adapter for a Mac that works well is not as easy as it might seem. I've been through a couple that simply didn't work well enough. I finally broke down and spent the money to get this Hawking Hi-gain adapter.
Summary: Had to move my Imac G5 into basement and airport was only receiving 30% signal from time machine (according to istumbler) which was located one floor up. Running Fios and was only getting about 5 kbps download speed with delays. Set up the antenna today and download speed almost at 20 kbps.
Summary: My computer didn't have an airport card so I ordered this. It took about 2 minutes to get it working. The connection works well and I'm happy with the speeds. When my computer is in sleep mode it loses the connection. I think it's a problem with my settings.
Summary: I ordered this for use as backup to the built-in Airport in my MacPro. I ran into couple of problems with the unit after installing it: even though the signal was very strong, the unit got massive amount of collision errors causing the web pages to display very slow and sluggish.
Summary: I'm totally satisfied with this product. It greatly extends the range and signal strength of wireless signals. It worked immediately upon installation, the directions for which were perfectly clear. This was in contrast to a competitor's unit I had purchased previously and returned.
