Summary: this unit worked very well was trouble-free. Unfortunately when I was in the hospital my X friends took it upon themselves to do something else with it. I imagine it is still working perfectly and I will purchase another one.
Summary: I have Win XP and this is supposed to work better than the usual non-directional adapter/router that is standard with the Linksys setup, since it is directional. It is just the same. It still has to receive the signal from about 50-60 feet through two rock walls and it does not do that any better than my prior non directional adapter/router. Hard wire may be the only way to go but is way too expensive.
Summary: This antennae pulls in wi-fi from about a mile away... was fairly easy to install but make sure you read the instructions first. Hawkings has a website for downloading a driver and the antennae comes with a disk. I've used my Hawkings for 14 months dropped it a few times and it still works. This should be easy enough for anyone to set up.
Summary: This is a great product. I'm a good hundred yards from the router and even in bad weather I get a strong signal. I have this thing mounted OUTSIDE on top of the roof in the dead of a MN winter and it has been blown off 3 times and still works fine. Great product.
Summary: I've had this for over a year. Some reviewer said his was fragile. Not mine. I've dropped it 4 ft. several times. It's been sticking outside my window in Minnesota throughout the humid summers and frigid winters. It still works. I don't know the range, but it works fine for me. (I "share" the network with my neighbor's house in a suburb). I recently bought windows 7. This is how you install: -Bring your computer to a location where you can get internet.
Summary: I was recently in a situation where I needed to reach a signal that was just barely out of range. After struggling with several different adapters that I own I went and acquired the Dish Adapter. The software installed easily with no problem. I tried it with two different computers. I was able to attach to signals that previously I could see but not reach or previously not even see. From now on this device is going with me when I travel, particularly when camping.
