Summary: I would not recommend this unit. I have been doing professional enterprise wireless for over 10 years. The bridge feature is poor. If the unit was within 5 feet of the base wireless it would work. As I move away from the base unit the signal strength fell drastically to the point it was not usable. I substituted the unit with an old Linksys with DDWRT firmware which worked at over 100 feet away (cost 2 dollars at a garage sale) till I could buy a different outdoor unit.
Be careful to not use spaces in your SSID if you try to use this repeater!

Summary: Very nice product but the firmware has a subtle bug in it which Hawking Tech Support cannot seem to diagnose. I spent several hours on the phone with then trying to determine why it wouldn't connect to my Wi-Fi. Finally they gave up and said that it must be a defective unit. I didn't believe that and continued debugging the problem myself. I finally discovered that the HOW2R1 cannot handle an SSID that contains spaces in it (such as "My Home Network").
Summary: The Hawking HOW2R1 has more than one serious shortcoming, but I will discuss the major one first: The HOW2R1 doesn't have a hardware reset button in case of password loss or power loss during reconfiguration of the HOW2R1's system settings. And, in my case, the "HOW2R1 Support Utility" cannot locate the Hawking HOW2R1 on my network in order to reset the password.
Summary: Easy install and setup. Works as advertised. Set this up in a camp ground and the signal strength really covered as expected. I would recommend this product to anyone looking to cover a large outside area.
Summary: After 90 minutes on the phone with someone from India that I could not understand very well I ended up with an expensive paperweight. After reading many of the other reviews I decided to have a 'professional' walk me through the install. Using multiple computers and repeating the configuration a dozen times it never worked. It slowed my Internet connection down. After the second failure I should have had an advanced technician take over the call. I WOULD NOT BUY THIS!!!!
Summary: Have had no problems with this repeater! Very easy to set up and install. I own an RV park and this did the job for those RV'ers furthest away from the antenna. I read the reviews before i bought it and was concerned about the setup, allot of people saying they were on the phone with tech support for hours. I did not experience this at all. Followed the directions supplied with the unit and it saw the network, joined and has been perfect ever since.
Worked as advertised. Range was good and setup was a breeze.

Summary: I was a little concerned after reading a couple of reviews about difficulty in the set up but it was pretty easy. The range of the Wi Fi was great. I've had it set up for a couple of months and it continues to work fine.
