Nope

Steve K., Newegg

  • Summary: For the price of these they should work with no doubt. I have a $19 TP Link repeater that works 100 times better than this thing. Im not the only one with this problem after doing a little research.
  • Pros: Couldn't find any
  • Cons: Couldn't get it to work on the 5ghz band at all, it would find it and act like it was all set up but nothing. Got it to work on the 2.4ghz band and it worked for a few days and nothing.

Connects ONLY to channel 36 (5GHz)

Firas S., Newegg
13 July 2013
  • Summary: If you are in the market for an extender, look somewhere else.
  • Pros: Good performance
  • Cons: Only connects to channel 36 on the 5GHz frequency. If you change the channel on your wireless router to anything other than channel 36, this extender will not see it. Tech support confirmed this.

Don't waste your money

Anonymous, Newegg

  • Summary: Done with dual band! Apparently no one makes one that delivers any of the touted benefits. I will stick with my HWREN1, easy setup any works flawlessly. Did I mention it gets at least 2x the connection strength over ANY dual band repeater I've tried.
  • Pros: none
  • Cons: Got this to try to upgrade my single band repeater (also a Hawking) However, as with every dual band bridge/ap/repeater I've tried this thing gets terrible signal strength. My Hawking HRWEN1 gets close to 90% signal strength, this gets about 30%.
