Summary: I am using this to connect a Windows 8 desktop computer to a home wireless network. It works great. The signal goes through about 4 walls and about 35 feet. Strong signal received. The installation couldn't be simpler!
Summary: Works as advertised. I use it on my boat because my computer is in the lower part of the boat and often I can't get a signal unless I take it up to the top deck. Now I have this unit attached by a USB cable at a higher point in the boat and I can get reception easily.
Summary: Well, so far this is a bust. I'm on a Macbook Pro running 10.6.8 (yes, I know this is an older OS). I've installed the software per the instructions, uninstalled, trashed preferences, reinstalled, run permissions repair - all multiple times in various sequences - but the utility that comes with this...
Summary: Works very well with our Dell desktop. The previous adapter would lose connections at time, and completely failed when MS updated the OS. We are using this on Windows 8.1. The router is located about 40 ft. from the adapter.
Summary: Requires loading the driver software on the laptop first, but then has worked well consistently. It can be plugged in as needed to pull in the wireless signal when distance from the source is a factor.
Summary: I just received it in the mail, installed the software, and where I normally cannot get a signal, I can get it. I used to never get a signal sitting in the kitchen, and now I can sit all the way in my bedroom on the other side of the house.
Summary: Great adapter. It added plenty of range for my MacBook Pro. Setup was easy enough for me, but that might not be true for everyone. The main thing I enjoy is that this can be put in monitor mode. I do a lot of networking, and this helps me troubleshoot network issues.
Summary: Outstanding performance. It really does pull in your WiFi signal from 100's of feet away across my property. Only knock against it is that I had to get a usb extender cable because of the way it slides into the USB port on the back of my Mac Mini puts the antenna pointing down.
