cables not included

Jason S., Newegg
15 July 2011
  • Summary: NewEgg could also include some dimensions, Mast Height, etc.. It is longer than I expected.
  • Pros: comes with most of the connections and cable you would need.
  • Cons: Doesn't come with the one cable that is required to use. More of a newegg problem with a bad wirteup. manual states HAC30n NOT INCLUDED. W T F.. At least put a 2 or 3 foot cable in to life can move forward.

RMA Nightmare

Anonymous, Newegg
17 September 2010
  • Summary: Buy at your own risk.. If you have a problem, you are on your own! There are much better brands out there, so do not waste your money here.
  • Pros: Quick shipping with Newegg.
  • Cons: Horrible RMA support. This antenna never worked right out of the box. Contacted Hawking support and they confirmed a defective unit and gave me an RMA number to obtain a replacement. Had to pay for shipping to CA (I am ok with that). UPS confirmed delivery reciept but that is as far as it goes. B...

decent

william h., Newegg
25 July 2010
  • Summary: wish it had more power. it doesn't go through walls very well.
  • Pros: does a good job. using it to connect two business and a personal residence that are in about a 750 foot radius.
  • Cons: hawking tech support is a nightmare. a storm came through and blow up the fuse inside the surge protector and no one at hawking could tell me how or where to get a new one.

Talked to the OWNER of hawking! Disapointing!

Joseph H., Newegg
1 July 2010
  • Summary: Thank you Norm (The VP) for all your help! (Which was absolutely nothing!) Hawking Tech Support was awful. They claim 2 out of 10 of these are bad. (WHAT!?!?!?!) They will no help you in anyway.
  • Pros: none!
  • Cons: Bought 2 of these and both were bad?!?!?!?! We supposedly were talking to the VP and then the owner. They Graciously offered to dicount their HAWKING HOWABN1 Hi-Gain Outdoor Wireless-300N Multifunction Access Point This would surely suit our needs. It retails for $299 and they offered us $30 doll...

Great but over priced

Anonymous, Newegg
13 March 2010
  • Summary: When I first got this antenna I mounted it on top of my roof about 15ft off the ground and connected it to my WRT54GL with tx set @ 71mw then did a site survey and picked up access points on the gulf about 2 miles away! I actually picked up my hotspot on the beach that I run.
  • Pros: Great Antenna! I setup a neighborhood hotspot and decided to use this antenna and it covers about 90 of 120 houses.
  • Cons: Mounting Angle seemed to be really important when mounting this antenna less then 20ft off the ground. Also the pig tale is only about 1ft so I recommend getting a longer one.

Motel Owne, TigerDirect.com

  • Summary: This antenna is just what I needed to get wi-fi to all the rooms in my motel!! Previous to installing this antenna I only had service in 16 of 22 rooms. Now even the farthest room from the router has three bars! Also the building is made of concrete block and the signal still gets through.

  • Summary: This thing is a piece of crap. I installed it on the roof of my office building and when standing in the driveway looking straight at my antennea, (clear line of sight )I get ''Good'' signal strength. Whe I walk another 35 ft I get ''Fair'' and then ''Poor'' signal strength.

  • Summary: This antenna is awesome. It extended the range of my router about 3000 ft with it mounted outside on a pole about 10ft off the ground. It even sends the signal clearly through trees. I highly recommend it.
