Summary: I installed the included driver, and that did *NOT* work at all. it worked AFTER I uninstalled the driver. so, if you're having problems, don't use the included driver/software. overall, I like it. it's really small and compact. and it works well for me. highly recommended
Summary: In Linux with ralink firmware, this thing connects at 90-120mbps. Not 150, but still a lot better than with native driver, hence 3 eggs; would be 0 otherwise.
Pros: Price, size, ralink chipset.
Cons: Driver is bad. I downloaded it (and the utility) from their website. It only connects at G speed (54mbps). Router is configured with wpa2+aes. If I disable b+g on my router, it won't connect at all. My laptop is 7 feet away from the router. My built-in card with ancient Broadcom chipset connects ...
Summary: [Update] Since I can't edit reviews please discard the review below. I gave this a 5 star rating to offset the one I gave earlier out of frustration. The item works fairly well as long as you are within range of 0-30 ft.
Summary: It maybe just for my setup that it is giving so much trouble, but I would not recommend this product.
Cons: Used it for a desktop, and the connection is terrible. My setup is in the furthest room from the router, and I am able to pick up not even a 1/10 of the connection speed my laptops wireless card can in the same room. Tried messing with the settings on the software that came with it with little to...
Summary: Using it on a desktop, so it will remain plugged in. Installed only the drivers when asked, not the EnGenius management software. XP Pro SP3 system. Replaced a PCI network card that was failing.
Pros: Neat, small, signal strength very good and consistent. Low Price.
Cons: No way to store cap, so it will get lost (not a biggie, not enough to lose a star.
Summary: P.S. - In the time I typed this review and hit submit I lost my connection and had to reconnect!
Pros: Small I guess?
Cons: Extremely flaky. I have this installed on a PowerMac OS X 10.6.2 (Snow Leopard) and it NEVER stays connected. Anytime you want to access the web you literally have to reopen the EnGenius Wireless Utility and double click the profile to reconnect or click the connect button on the site survey page...
