EnGenius USB Adapter Review

Arke, Amazon
3 October 2012
  • Summary: This product really works. I am currently living on a college campus and have the worst internet connection I have ever seen. At times, I was lucky if my laptop could get one or two bars for one minute due to the constant drop off of the internet signal.

Expected it to be a piece of junk... man, was I wrong!

C. Batke, Amazon
7 August 2012
  • Summary: Let me start off by saying that I had really wanted a Medialink adapter, since it had more than a thousand reviews and they were all positive. BUT, I had already ordered a Medialink router, and I wasn't able to add the USB onto the order in time (amazon would have charged me extra for the shipping).

11 January 2012
  • Summary: I liked the device so much I came back today to buy more but they are now $30.00 and I just bought one for $10.00 a few days ago. I would recommend it.
  • Pros: Well designed hardware, driver was a little troublesome for Win 7. Needed to download new driver from web site and all was fine. Has great range compared to my new Samsung laptop.
  • Cons: Driver software

Antenna on steroids!

Gary L. Kevorkian, Amazon
18 May 2007
  • Summary: I didn't know what I was missing until I installed this adapter. Doubled the speed on my Mac mini and HP Notebook. Get 7 bars instead of three! Install is easy zipfile, took 5 mins. Can't wait till I get rid of my 2Wire Gateway and replace it with a real wireless router/modem.

  • Summary: The good news and the bad news... good news - this thing is fast.. it increased my download times probably 3 fold. the bad - It took me five hours to get this s.o.b. to work. The documentation is terrible. I finally had the sense to look at my wifes mac and check her settings and copied those.

Good Device

C. Fernandes, Amazon
11 August 2004
  • Summary: I needed a stronger wifi signal at the far end of my house so I could use my laptop. This device did the trick and I am very happy with it. It connected easily, is small, compact and I can't wait to try it out when I am traveling. Very happy with the price.
