Good Device

Greg V., Newegg

  • Summary: 1. Not as good of a long range AP as I was hoping.

ROCK SOLID AP

Anonymous, Newegg
30 May 2013
  • Pros: This unit replaced an EnGenius EOC 1650 2.4GHz only B/G AP. I have a great deal of experience with EnGenius products, and have never been let down. The major pros are that it transmits at 400 mW, and has an integrated 10 dBi panel antenna. The antenna is semi-directional, so it does make a good sector antenna. I am getting -49 dBm through multiple walls, one of them being concrete. Obviously the unit is 5 GHz only, so if you need 2.4 GHz compatibility as well you will...
  • Cons: PoE is proprietary in nature. You must use the supplied power injector or you will fry the unit.
