Summary: I cant get this thing to work properly. It could just be me but im pretty tech savy. I followed the directions to a T which aren't that hard. And I have tried three separate attempts to get it set up and it never works. I connect the device to my network like it says and I set up a ssid and an Ip address for it but when When I try to have devices in my house connect to that ssid it connects but when you try to browse the web it times out. Its currently a paper weight.
Summary: This thing was impossible to set up. After troubleshooting for a few hours I finally got it set up, but it still randomly kicked me off the network. Three months of putting up with that and it just stopped working. I left it alone for a few months, went back to it, tried to do a factory reset and nothing happened. Never buying from Edimax again.
Summary: Needed to get a Roku signal around a 90-degree turn to the back of the house, and it works like a charm. This sets at the midpoint of the house, the Roku at one end and my router at the other. The right angle turn put just a bit too much wall between router and Roku for a strong enough signal to reach. This picked up the router signal from about 20 feet and 2 rooms away, and sent it another 2 rooms and 20 feet. Very happy customer!
Pros: I had problems resetting my extender and I called the Edimax company. They called me back and were very patient with me and they help me get my extender up and running even better. To me, that is the mark of a great company that will call you back and work with you until the problem was fixed. I cannot thank them enough. If you need an extender buy it from this company if you want REAL customer technical service.
Summary: A more thorough setup walkthrough, troubleshooting guide, or FAQ would improve the experience dramatically.
Pros: The device works quite well once set up.
Cons: The setup process is prone to a number of weird snags, and there isn't enough available documentation to troubleshoot effectively. Specifically, the page on which you set up the Wi-Fi connection kept automatically refreshing, making it impossible to enter the network password. I almost returned it, but a last ditch, desperate attempt to solve the problem via trial-and-error finally paid off.
Summary: I didn't buy two when they were on sale...
Pros: it's been working great so far. It in combo with a Rosewill RNX-N150UBE gets me ~85% signal strength 40ft away inside a metal building. Streaming media for hours at a time has been rock solid. Lost connection once whan a big brown truck got between the buildings to drop off some more awesome.
Summary: I use this as a wireless extender in an upstairs hallway and it works well. The set up was simple and done through my browser, where there are three options for specific uses. It gives a default SSID as the same one that is being extended but with "_EX2" added to the original SSID. You are able to keep the same SSID password or use a new one. I kept the same one to minimize the impact to all the laymen/laywomen in the house.
Pros: Instructions make this an Easy Set-Up from a laptop wirelessly for someone with modest knowledge Solid Wireless Performance relatively Inexpensive

Summary: The layout being complicated this product provides me with options on how to stay productive anywhere. Although it cuts throughput by half, the coverage being extended provides those have had radio drop offs to have consistent non-stop coverage. I've had times where I've had to restart the router for some odd reason, because it wouldn't serve the internet anymore, but those times are rare.
