Pros: I used this on a Neptune Apex aquarium controller. Its plugged into an EB-8. I linked it up with my home wireless router over wireless. This has worked flawlessly for over a year and a half. It has a single Ethernet port (connected to the Apex which has only wired Ethernet) and that is exactly what i needed to get my Apex online.
Summary: I bought this product, because it was cheap and seemed like a good use to make the range better in our far bedroom. This actually worked for what we needed. When this powered on it provided an easy setup wizard to connect to my router, and then created a new network ***_EX2 which was good because now I can choose which network to connect to. Just be warned, when you setup the SSID of this Extender, don't make it the exact SSID of the SSID on the router.
Summary: I initially bought the TP-LINK TL-WA850RE, but it didn't work properly. So I decided to give this one a shot and I'm so happy I did! Design: First of all, it's not as bulky and ugly as it looks on the picture. It is half the size of the TP-LINK and to put it into perspective, it is smaller than the wall plug frame, and it leaves enough space to use the second wall plug. Configuration: It was a breeze. Connect the Edimax to the power.
Pros: Very easy setup. Did it once and the thing just works. I use it primarily for my wifeless HP printer and a failsafe for the mobile devices that will likely wander out of the range of the WiFi router in my basement. Does not seem to have any trouble re-connecting when I reboot the router. I've used it to extend the range of both a DLink DIR-825 and an ASUS RT-AC66U.
Cons: Would be nice if it was a bit slimer. Have in a hallway and it occasionally gets bumped.
Good initial quality, much smaller than image may make you think.

Summary: Initial quality is great. Has on/off switch, much more convenient than TP link product. I turn off this and router when I leave home and not use then for half a day. This one is not as good looking though, but it does work very well, set up with WPS was just as easy, just press WPS button of this extender first and then the one in your router. For routers without WPS, this item has very detailed instruction and comes with a CD also - not sue what it does though.
Summary: This unit is great value for money and works well. We built an extension onto our house which is through the original metal door to the garage and beyond the original house external brick walls. The extender is 20ft inside the original building and we now get 5 bars in the extension. We are very pleased.
Pros: The unit does a great job of extending our WEP enabled house system into the new extension which had barely one bar of coverage before installing this unit. Despite 2 power outages since installation, the unit has recovered and re-synced with the main router each time without manual intervention.
Cons: The router in our house is supplied by Verizon and we have no control of its setup or WEP codes. I am very tech savvy but even I found it a challenge to get the main network talking to the extender reliably even after power on/off, but after we set it up and cycled the power on the main system a few times it seemed to synchronize and hasn't been an issue since.
Summary: I have a 3,000 sq. ft. house with five bedrooms. Needless to say, I wasn't getting very good internet signals in many part of the house. I bought two of Edimax's range extenders EW-7434RPn because of the low price. But getting them to work with my Macbook was very problematic. The instructions that came with the extenders are pretty bad. What they don't tell you is how great their tech support is. I called their USA number -- 1-800-652-6776 -- and spoke to Jeffrey.
Pros: -VERY easy setup. -Good amount of bandwidth and latency.
Cons: -Can be a pain if you tend to use Wi-Fi on your phone around the house as if you are on the range extender and you move into range of your router you have to manually switch. Not a big deal as I knew this would have to be done when I purchased the item. -Doesn't have an incredible amount of signal amplification so connection to your wireless router through walls or floors might cause issues, I simply tested in different areas around the house until I found a good spot.
