Summary: I did the WPS set up, and it started working. I couldn't figure out how to load the settings page, but none the less it works. Eventually, I'll figure out it out. Apparently, it's "dummy" friendly.
Summary: I've wanted to use my interet radio in the garage but didn't have the wireless range. When I saw this all-in-one range extender for 45 bucks I gave it a try. It works great! Was very easy to setup and understand. Only glitch was that my internet radio identified two routers, my original and the extender, and kept trying to connect to the original router (which was out of range).
Summary: my home wifi doesn't quite reach the bedroom. this range extender picks up the weak signal in my bedroom and repeats it. i did a speed test and i am now getting as good wifi reception in my bedroom as i would right next to the original wireless router. setup was not super simple, but it wasn't very hard either. it helped that i have a decent amount of technical knowledge and experience. if you don't, you should still be able to set this up.
Summary: I live in a one story long ranch. So even trying to place my hard wire router in the geo center of the house still leaves quite a weak signal at both ends of the house, plus my back yard / pool. Was impressed by this item for both its price and the other reviews. I have some tech background but cannot keep up with the average 7th grader by today's standards. The unit is quite small which is a plus. Also is white which makes it neutral in the home.
Summary: I researched a number of products to solve the problem we had which was; - Three storey house with our WiFi modem on the top floor. - Only one or two bars of reception on the middle floor (rarely three, if it was feeling generous) and slow speed. - No reception at all on the ground floor... I purchased this device having read the reviews. Setting it up by following the manual instructions was quite easy; > Plug the device into the plug socket, switch it on.
Summary: First, this Extender does offer a second SSID.....which implies that you need to connect to it. That is only for the initial setup. I hooked it up and used the Extender's SSID. It was slower than my main router's SSID and I lost my connection 50' away. I was about to return it. Than I decided to connect to my main wireless router's SSID....and WOWZA...my 3 Mb/s speed in the most remote location is now 18-20 Mb/s.
