Pros: I gotta start off by saying that I love the product but the delivery took wayyyyyyyy to long. I placed the order on Oct 6th but I received it on the 14th, which is weird with 3 day shipping. Anyhow, back to the product. This has to be the easiest wireless extender I have ever used. My friend bought the same thing and he said it was easy to install and he was right. All I had to do is plug it in and use my smart phone to do the setup. I only wish they had an app to man...
Summary: bought a second unit months later since the first one did exactly what I wanted
Pros: Works as described; good range and fast enough even though the unit adds an extra hop; compact size (leaves enough room to plug other cords next to it); all indicator lights can be configured off (e.g. no distracting glows)
Cons: setup can take some time if WPS isn't usable from the wireless router; resetting the unit may take multiple attempts; position of on/off switch can be tripped too easily if not careful
Summary: I just received my wi-fi extender today, but it seems to be pretty straight-forward and easy to use. I am currently on the extended network and my internet runs faster than before I installed it. It detected a signal strength of 76% from my router, but gives more than it gets apparently. Four stars only because I am waiting to see if anything occurs. Good buy!
Pros: Easy set up, neat and compact design, fairly cheap
Pros: Has been working for about 7 months without issues. My garage was a dead zone, now I have an average connection to my router. Have not tried to stream videos yet, but have no issues streaming music.
Cons: I thought the connection was going to be much better, but is just average.
Summary: First off, this unit is much smaller than I thought it would be. That's a good thing! I am the same boat as a lot of other reviewers. I live in a 3 bedroom 2 level home with a wifi router in the upstairs south front corner of the house. We would balance between a single bar of wifi while in the backyard, constantly holding our phones up pointing towards our slider to get that weeee bit of signal in order to complete the picture we were downloading.
Pros: update to my previous review. i followed tech support's advice to make this the same ssid as my router. however none of my devices were able to switch automatically, this include iphone 5s, galaxy s4, ipad 4, lenovo laptop, sony laptop. nonetheless i appreciate the help from tech support, which i didn't even solicit.
Pros: bought for 25$ with free shipping, easy to set up, 15 min; plugs in the wall outlet, small size, works good. I've installed in the garage to have a wi fi signal on the street and seems all fine. Increased wireless zone about 80 feet with decent speed.
Cons: Now I got 2 networks and most of time have to switch manually between them , depending of which signal is better. My devices sticks to one network and can't automatically picks better network. It's a little disadvantage
Summary: I like the fact that this device uses its own unique SSD, because depending on where your clients are, sometimes it might be better to use the device and if not then you connect to your own network. My broadband router is at least 70 feet away from two of the clients that could not connect reliable, and now this device is 50 feet away from my router and only 20 feet away from two clients.
Pros: Ease of use ... just plug it in. Uses its own unique SSD identifier.
Cons: Be adventurous and try ALL of their methods of setting it up. I wonder why they use the language that this method MAY WORK or that method MIGHT WORK. It did take me a while to set it up because some of the methods did not work for me.
Pros: My goal was to to extend the wifi in my house to the 2nd floor, so I was looking for an inexpensive compact n device that plugged directly into the wall. I didn't realize how compact it was until I took it out of the box. And for the cost (half price + $5 off coupon) it definitely fit the bill! After installation, I ran a speed test from the worst location on the second floor. First connected directly to my router, then connected to the device. Speed with the device w...
Cons: Would have given the device 5 stars had the setup been a little easier. The device has it's own initial dedicated IP address, which would normally not be a problem except that the device forces you to connect to your network on initialization. Once connected to your network (via DHCP), you loose the initial IP address and need to figure out what the new IP address is so that you can log into the device for further configuration. Not a big deal, I just went into my rou...
