Worthless

Sarah B., Newegg
25 August 2014
  • Summary: Tell you what, if you want one you can have mine. Currently it is in 6 pieces after being thrown against the ground. Honestly, that was the best use I got out of it.
  • Pros: It was easy to setup.
  • Cons: The device is useless, utterly useless. It worked well for about a week and then nothing but constant issues. It was placed in an area that had great signal and would show that it was transmitting without issue. However, 75% of the time it would stop broadcasting its SSID and I could not maintain a connection to it. The connection was so bad, that I would often connect my wireless router and deal with its slow response over this device.

Follow up to "don't bother"

Dariusz R., Newegg
19 August 2014
  • Summary: Follow up to manufacturer response. I wish distance was the case here. When setting up, edimax was within 5 feet from my wireless router, so distance is definitely not the problem here. The device just didn't work as expected fro me.
  • Pros: none
  • Cons: see original review

Don't bother

Dariusz R., Newegg
16 August 2014
  • Summary: Maybe I got a dud, but that is still not acceptable
  • Pros: Pretty case
  • Cons: Simply does not work. After initial setup in repeater mode, it will stay connected for a minute or two, than it will revert to using it's original default IP and drop internet connection. Router show that it is still connected but no outside access. All pages get redirected to internal setup page. Tried resetting and setting up fresh several times, always with the same result.

Waste of Money

Charles F., Newegg
3 July 2014
  • Summary: TRASH
  • Pros: Easy installation
  • Cons: Extremely slow! While hanging out downstairs in our living room, (router upstairs in bedroom) from my router I was receiving 68% signal, with 30 mb down 10 up. I specifically purchased this "extender" for my Smart TV with Netflix, and Xbox one. My Xbox One had an update, took over 1 hour!!! Ruined my bowling night! Netflix barely played a movie, in horrible quality. I thought I was going crazy! Its placed in between the router and the "dead zone" like the instructions...

Does not work

Qui N., Newegg
2 June 2014
  • Summary: I have used other devices from Edimax such as the AP 300M dual antenna, nano usb nic, switch, etc. Maybe bad luck and got a lemon one but that's still a bad quality control on Edimax.
  • Pros: none as it never works
  • Cons: I follow instruction have it connected to the router. However, the signal keeps fluctuate between 1-4 bars no matter how far I'm from the extender. Worse, none of the device can access the internet even with full 4 bars. Browser keeps spinning. Should heed the warning from many recent buyers. Now, it cost me $$$ to send back for a refund.

Junk

Yin X., Newegg
18 April 2014
  • Pros: none
  • Cons: What a junk, first, it doesn't stay connected for long, I would have to recycle the power button once a while, not fun at all. Then today, it completely failed. wifi stops working all together, great.
