Summary: After this support experience, when I am in need of a item where Edimax has a product, I will buy the Edimax item - PERIOD!
Pros: Best wireless device I've used -AND- OUTSTANDING support!! While in an installation rush a messed up my settings during the install, so I contacted Edimax support. You cannot believe how knowledgeable, competent and professional their technician (Judy Chang) is. I’ve been building systems for a number of years, and occasionally have had to deal with manufacturers support teams; but, never, ever have I run across anyone as great as Ms. Chang. I would suggest that it’s ...
Good product, but impossible to set up without help from support.

Summary: If the manufacturer would only dramatically improve the documentation and the setup software, this could have easily been a 5 egg review. Meanwhile, don't expect to be able to set it up yourself without calling tech support, unless you're a wireless networking superpro or something. I think about, 5 different settings had to be changed manually through the device's in-browser config while I was with support. Thankfully support is excellent.
Pros: It works very well so far. It is small, too. Customer support is excellent and very kind.
Cons: It is true what others have said about the documentation, it is extremely poor. By that, I mean it's missing a lot of CRITICAL information. (it also has some engrish). Also, the setup software seems to be half-baked, as it doesn't even ask for certain critically needed settings. You actually have to go into the device's in-browser configuration to add these missing settings. One of these settings is the Security Key of the network that is going to be extended (!). Wit...
Pros: Great product. As advertised. Using as repeater for upstairs in home. Improved wifi reception more than expected. Tech support answered right away. Walked me through setup. Awesome tech support!!!
Cons: Setup instructions a bit difficult. Called tech support. Very friendly. Got it setup in about 15 minutes.
Pros: Fast speeds, no hiccups; Flawless. Does what I needed it to and small enough to hard mod inside of an XBox when taken apart (just four screws). Also, it's described here as 12v DC but really it is 5v- so installation inside an original XBox is extremely simple.
Cons: Setup. I could not get the disc to load in multiple Windows 7 pcs so I had to go to their website and download a 139 mb file which wasn't a big deal, just a little irritating. I also assumed that the box being set at 192.168.2.1, I would have to set my device's Static IP to something involving 192.168.2.--- and my gateway to 192.168.2.1. However, it follows the original router configuration. Aside from the slight confusion there I'd say this is a great device.
Summary: how to set up without disc through webgui heres how 1. input into the ip4 properties while being connected to the edimax by lan for your ip 192.168.2.10 subnet mask 255.255.255.0 gateway 192.168.2.1 enter that hit ok 2 open up browser and type 192.168.2.1 there u go should tell you the login and pass in the box that pops up. 3. set it up for what you need 4.
Pros: No packet loss. no errors , very smooth no lag while downloading or uploading as well streaming.
Cons: wpa2 (AES) doesnt work with the 360 so had the universal repeater to wpa disc does not work in windows 8
