  • Summary: Set up was not as challenging as some of the reviews indicate, however, this booster destroyed the network. It seems this D-Link booster overrode the DHCP from the Verizon router, and began assigning its own IP addresses to all network members. (This did not allow networked computers to reach the net.) I was able to recover by disconnecting the booster, but I was never able to get one laptop to reconnect to the network.

  • Summary: This is a very goog range extender, the problem is that is a little tricky to set up, because if your router is not D-link, like mine. Linksys WRT54GS Wireless-G Broadband Router with SpeedBooster you have to work with the IP Address and set one, so the Router and extender can look at each other. After that you can put back the automatic IP address on your router and the computer.

No go with Snow Leopard

  • Summary: OK, so let's say up front that I'm no networking guru. But, I've setup lots of wireless routers with little or no assistance. For this one I gave up after a couple hours wasted futzing with settings, firmware updates etc, and instead bought a Airport Extreme router instead. With a stronger 'N' router I didn't need to mess with an extender anyway. I'm not suggesting that anyone's experience would be the same as mine. As they say YMMV.

used product that didn't work and had no instructions

  • Summary: This was a used product but it looked like new as stated in the ad. The D-Link range extender arrived on time but there were no instructions or even a link to guide me where to find a manual or anything. A friend of mine who is versed in setting these things up spent some time setting up the system so it would see and read between my D-Link hub and other PC in our home.

Only good for internet surfing

  • Summary: Easy to set up and killer signal strength. Unfortunately, when set up, all connected machines could only communicate with the gateway and the internet. These machines were unable to see other machines on the internal network. I was not able to resolve the issue. Completely disappointing.

Shocked at Discourteous Sevice

  • Summary: The web address in the instructions for setting up the D-Link Extender did not work. When I called D-Link customer help they informed me that this item was discontinued in 2008. D-Link stated this item is obsolete. Any help from D-Link will cost me $50 per half hour whether or not they solve my problem (credit card required up front). Buy It Love It refused to take the extender back. Their reply to me was "this is not our problem".

Caused major problems

  • Summary: This looked like a bargain, but I wasted a day trying to set it up and never got it to work right. It played havoc with the IP addresses on my home network. I finally had to use the "time warp" function on my main PC to go back to the settings in place before I tried to install this. Also, it is no longer supported by D-Link, so don't expect any help there. Don't waste your money on this.

  • Summary: Mi experiencia es MUY MALA. Su servicio de atención al cliente(902304545) no atienden al teléfono. He escrito un mail...pero. El problema es que el producto funciona con un rango de IP determinado. En mi caso, que soy cliente de Imagenio y ADSL de telefónica, cambiar mi IP supone arriesgarse a que funcione mal el servicio de telefónica. Deberían avisar de esta eventualidad.
