  • Summary: got this to use with d-link dir-825 router. I have it to use with the 5ghz band while other family memebers use the 2.4 frequency. i rarely lose connectivity with this adapter and happy with the purchase.
  • Pros: great connectivity over both frequencies
  • Cons: pricy for a usb adapter

  • Summary: I Price matched this and got it for 40 bucks. Its really good and always gives me a 300 speed all the time. I don't know what people rated it soo bad. It acually is really good. it doesn't disconnect for me and yaa. Althought there isn't much of a difference over dual band than single. I have this paired with a dir-825 router.
  • Pros: Structure, Usb Cable, Light, Strengh
  • Cons: Software

  • Summary: The D-Link DWA-160 Xtreme N Duo 802.11n USB Adapter was extremely easy to install and appears to be working fine so far. I have installed internal adapters in the past and this is a lot easier as you don't need to open up the box to install; just load the software and plug it in the computer's USB port. And the price was really good as well.

  • Summary: Definitely beats wireless-g (54Mbps) given a wireless-n can achieve up to 300Mbps. Yes, you will get 300Mbps if your signal strength is excellent. Gave a 4-star on performance because the signal strength is the same as any other wireless USB with embedded antennas. I was hoping to get a better signal since I'm connecting to a Dlink N Router as well. Also connects seamlessly with Hawking router. Features are standard and fully backward compatible with a/b/g networks.

does what it needs to... so far

  • Summary: I matched brands (D-Link) because I've had even less success mixing wireless technology than getting wireless to perform well in general.
  • Pros: does what it's supposed to; coupled against the D-Link DIR 825 router (also a relatively good product). Getting 160-270Mbps signal strength on 2.4GHz band, about 25-30 feet and 1-2ish walls between.
  • Cons: I sorta miss internal pci cards... Not really.
