D-Link has Terrible tech support. Trash heap for this piece of junk.

FranticInFresno "Fresno14", Amazon
12 November 2014
  • Summary: My ISP provided me this DWA-140 adapter free. Good thing. Never worked out of the box. Email exchange was no help (Call us). Spent 30minutes waiting on the phone for a live Tech support person, they said: "Windows7 not supported".

Have two and both are broke

lynn Wicker, Amazon
9 June 2011
  • Summary: I bought one a couple years back and then another about 7 months back. It kinda of worked but had issues getting it up to 300 with my DIR-655. Turned out there was a setting in the router that needed changed. Then I still didn't get 300 at about 40 ft but figured it was the distance through walls.

no go for ubuntu 10.04

James B., Newegg
12 August 2010
  • Summary: I guess some versions do, just not the one I got. I have better things to do than to try and hack on this all day just to get it to work. It's going back.
  • Pros: Looks nice.
  • Cons: Does not work out of the box for Ubuntu 10.04, even though the wireless wiki says it works.
