They keep getting better and better!

NORMAN W., Newegg

  • Pros: Ridiculously easy to install! I've owned - and still use - several D-Link wireless adapters over a number of years, and they never fail me. Just follow the included quick start instructions on-screen and you're up and running in literally minutes. The hardest part is digging out and entering your...
  • Cons: The only con, if you consider it one, is the amount of clearance - in front of or behind your computer - needed to plug the thing in. There are smaller dongles out there for WI-FI, but I'd be afraid to try another brand unless it was the only alternative because of space around the USB ports.

Fedora Sugar On A Stick(OLPC) Plug and Play ready

Melody, Amazon
19 March 2015
  • Summary: I bought this to give wifi connectivity to a Dell Inspiron from 2002 for my kids and none of the adapters I had would install successfully under the Sugar On A Stick(OLPC)version of Fedora that I put on my younger kids laptops. This device was plug and play in this environment.

D-Link has Terrible tech support. Trash heap for this piece of junk.

12 November 2014
  • Summary: My ISP provided me this DWA-140 adapter free. Good thing. Never worked out of the box. Email exchange was no help (Call us). Spent 30minutes waiting on the phone for a live Tech support person, they said: "Windows7 not supported".

Low Marks for High Price.

Amazon Customer, Amazon
7 October 2014
  • Summary: After buying one adapter that wasn't compatible with Windows 8.1, I looked around and found this. With Prime, it felt like a steal for $10 when the usual price was $80. I'm not entirely sure if mine was defective, or if this product is generally bad. 3 stars for the benefit of the doubt.

I hope Amazon takes a better look at this item and makes the necessary changes ...

Gene C "GMEISTER", Amazon
20 August 2014
  • Summary: This device stopped working about a month after I purchased it, just long enough for the option to return expired. It is obviously faulty since numerous others have experienced the same. It is unethical not to have a return policy of say 6 months after purchase.

D-Link DWA-140 Rangebooster Wireless USB Adapter

S. Watson, Amazon
13 August 2014
  • Summary: I discovered that my second computer would not accept the internal adapter card and returned for replacement with the D-Link DWA USB adapter. Glad I did since installation takes only a few minutes and it seems to work just as good...also portable if I ever need to move it to a different computer.
