Summary: Can't go wrong for $40. 70% signal 2 full floors up from a wireless G router. Through closed doors. Up to 3 closed doors. Never drops signal. Installing drivers was a breeze. insert CD, let it do it's thing, restart, and done.
Pros: Comes with a USB Cradle, about 3 feet., Black, matches computer., Strong connection from a distance., Doesn't drop ever.
Summary: I had been using a D-Link GWL-G132 for the past 3 1/2 years that only ever got me 4 bars even when I used it in the same room as the router! Now I have a house with a router in the garage, and the GWL-G132 would do 2-3 bars from my computer spot. This wireless N 150 model gives me 3-4 bars in the same new location. I only upgraded my antenna to work with Windows 7.
Pros: Looks better than I thought it would, Comes with USB extension cradle with angled slot, Works with windows 7
Cons: I suppose it's not state of the art as far as antennas go
D-Link DWA-125 brings your old laptop back to life!
15 August 2010
Summary: If you have a laptop that is not compaitable with the new N format routers but you want to take advantage of the increased speed, this is an outstanding option for you!
Pros: Allows me to take full advantage of the speed of my D-Link N Router with my old laptop. Even though my old laptop only has built-in b/g capability, with this D-Link N Adapter plugged into a USB port it turns my laptop into a high-speed N compaitable device. The difference in speed is stunning! In addition to increasing the speed, I have noticed a significant imporvement in range and signal strength.
Cons: It sticks out of your USB port, so it can be a bit precrious if you are balancing your laptop on say...your lap. It is very similar in appearance to a USB protable drive however, most USB drives have rotating covers. The DWA-125s cover is removeable, so when you are using the adapter, you have to find a safe place for the cover so that you do not lose it. It would be much better if the cover rotated like on most USB drives!
