D-Link's latest Wireless N Home Router not only hits the sub-£50 sweet spot but also comes with the company's enormous 11-year warranty. The latter does seem rather excessive but as we observed in our review of D-Link's DKT-810 this is a sign of the company's confidence that the router can be upgraded well into the future. The DIR-615 is a slim-line slab of plastic incorporating a draft 2.0 802.11n wireless access point along with a quartet of switched Fast Ethernet... Read more

This unit was purchased to replace an 802.11b unit that was several years old, hoping it would provide faster data exchanges with my other wireless machines (2 laptop computers, a Pharos 535v, and a Palm TX PDA). It works fine with the newer laptop with Windows Vista and, after a couple of hours of work, it also works reliably with the laptop that has Windows XP on it. However, it has connected only once with the Palm TX and it took hours to get it to connect with the... Read more
Finally someone thought of it(thanks D-Link!)...a WiFi timer! Now I can have the radio portion turned off at night!. Some of the better setup pages I've seen. Good range to my netbook all around the house. Hardware revision C, flashed to the 3.11 ... NA firmware. Read more Less Read more
I have set up over 50 routers to date, but I have to admit - I still don't understand them and every single time hook them up, close my eyes and kind of hope they will work... same feeling that I get when trying to link bluetooth devices. What amazes ... Read more
Like another reviewer, I too registered with cnet just to warn you about this piece of crap. I have the latest firmware installed. I have also twice waited forever on hold with D-link for some dummy to suggest unplugging/plugging in the power adaptor as a way to fix the problem. The problem is that I lose Internet constantly. So does any other computer at my home that tries to use this router. I don't lose a signal, but my Internet access goes down. I have no problems if... Read more
This is a huge stability step up from my old Netgear WGR-614, which kept resetting itself for no apparent reason. By default this router engages a particular security feature that isn't compatible with a lot of devices (like my smartphone and gaming systems), but as long as you turn that feature off and go to a more typical security setup like MAC filtering or WEP you shouldn't have any issues. Turn off the auto-scan feature as well and set your channel manually, or you... Read more
