Summary: I bought this item after seeing an extensive video review on Geekbeat.tv. I decided to purchase this since I was going to be traveling overseas, and was not sure what kind of internet options I would have. With the help of the video review from John Pozadzides I made sure that I went through all of the necessary settings and made sure I had a secure SSID before I left. I have seen other reviews that remarked about the lack of security out of the box.
Good Product could be better if it had an ac adapter
Dsbskier "DBskier", Amazon

Summary: This is a good product. I feel that way about it because it makes a public WiFi network private which is important at this time of increasing data breaches and identity theft. You can't be too careful when online. It was easy to setup too. I would have given it five stars if it came with an ac adapter. When I am able to plug it in to an outlet I would rather do that. Instead I have to constantly recharge the battery.
Summary: I purchased this item after considering the 505L and a similar device by another company. Overall I am pretty pleased with my purchase. I used it for two weeks in Germany, and I'll be using it again on another trip. The primary cons of this device are the size (it is significantly larger than a typical 3G modem) and, In my opinion, the battery. I did not test the battery life out, but according to the specs it doesn't seem long enough to be particularly useful.
Summary: For traveling this ideal as it is small and light weight. It gives a hotspot that you can easily connect to. It features a nice ethernet connection which enables you to be wireless in those hotels who do not offer wireless connection but do feature an ethernet one. The usb connection also enables you to share the content of a flash drive wirelessly which is nice for the your mobile devices like phones and tablets.
Summary: My husband does a good bit of traveling, so there was a draw to this type of device. This review is based upon his findings while using it. I am not technologically challenged, but I still found the initial setup to be difficult. The instructions received with the device were confusing at times. Once the device was set up, I found that it worked well with wifi as well as wired to produce it's own wifi signal for all types of devices.
Summary: First of all let me say that this is a great little device. I'm a road warrior and this offers: 1. A super portable way to connect to hotel ethernet and turn that into a wifi hotspot. No more weak wireless signal and having to plug the laptop in! 2. A super easy way to share files from a USB drive to anyone within wifi range, great for meetings! 3. Charge your smartphone off the battery!
Summary: I thought it was able to be used as a hot spot with my cell phone. It wasn't designed to do that. I returned it for a refund. What it does do is converts a wired internet to a wireless connection. It has to be connected to a wired wifi, then it works like a charm.
Summary: This s a good product for my intent. My intent is for it to be a portable media streamer while traveling and also a portable network in the car. As a media streamer for my Android devices, the DLNA works well. I used a 32gb flash drive and it worked well. When I used a 500gb portable drive. The router powered the drive and was sharing video files fine, but when I tried to have 2 devices streaming simultaneously, the router rebooted.
