Summary: I was a bit hesitant to buy this device based on previous experience of another portable router made by Netgear. This device was advertised by D-Link as having a firmware update to accommodate 3G/4G compatibility and a list of the compatible modems that can be used on this device. I have a Bigpond (Sierra Wireless) 320U USB 4G modem. Initial setup was simple, navigation was easy and firmware update went without any issues.
Summary: I thought it was able to be used as a hot spot with my cell phone. It wasn't designed to do that. I returned it for a refund. What it does do is converts a wired internet to a wireless connection. It has to be connected to a wired wifi, then it works like a charm.
