What do ya want for twenty five bucks?

ccmcree, Ebay

  • Summary: When it works, it works great. Tends to have moments of confusion where it simply locks-up, requiring a screen refresh. The thing is nearing a decade old though, so technology has absolutely passed this router by.

Nice product but I will have to find an ethernet cord to really use it.

  • Summary: I opened up the package and it looks really nice. All the parts are there in nice little zip lock baggies. This device did not come with an Ethernet cord so I will have to find another one. I wanted this for work, but I have been too busy at home to go in.

mnafloor, Ebay
25 April 2010
  • Summary: I am not real sure how I feel about it just yet, I hooked everything up to my computer, and my internet would not work anymore. Also, I did not receive any instructions to ensure proper installation.

Great while it lasted

  • Summary: Like many other NewEgg reviewers', mine started rebooting randomly. D-Link sent me a refurbished unit, but unfortunately, I suspect it was a unit that someone else else returned, because this unit reboots randomly as well.
  • Pros: When it works, it works great. D-Link's RMA process is very smooth and easy. All my other D-Link products have been great.
  • Cons: I had to do an RMA due to random reboots. The replacement unit also has problems. I'm not the only one.

Maybe its just me....but

Debbie M., Newegg
12 February 2007
  • Summary: Idk if its just me missing something, but i'll have a friend look at it this weekend and see if he can figure anything out....until then it gets a 3
  • Pros: Great when it works, has decent range, works just like you'd expect a router to work.
  • Cons: Right now, it doesn't matter what broadcast channel i put it on, but i get constant drops with my laptop. signal is 4/5 or 5/5 all the time but then all of a sudden it just drops. Works fine when it is plugged directly into the laptop, but wireless won't work.

Adequate... although still has rebooting issue

Jennifer N., Newegg
1 January 2007
  • Summary: D-Link needs to get on the ball with their firmware updates.
  • Pros: This is my 3rd purchase, had to replace the first two through D-link. These have a rebooting issue, I believe that stems from the firmware.
  • Cons: Rebooting Issue

User Review

Daniel J., Newegg
13 December 2006
  • Summary: I think if you turn off UpNP and/or the gaming mode from the router settings page you should be fine. Of course, this requires you to manually set the port forwarding settings if you use certain programs that would normally use UpNP (eg file sharing / online games).
  • Pros: good price... my wireless range is fine... there's a setting in the router to use "extended range mode" i have that turned on and wireless reception is much better than my old linkysys 54gtsdfsdf something router
  • Cons: initially the router would reset...

Not Good

Anonymous, Newegg
13 December 2006
  • Summary: Tried 3 of these for 1 to 4 years with only fair results. Have had much better results with Linksys.
  • Pros: Cheap
  • Cons: Drops signals frequently and needs rebooting.
