Nice Little Router

Hugo, Amazon
10 October 2013
  • Summary: I bought this router from Office Depot back in 2005 or so. It was my first router so I didn't have too much experience with routers at the time so setup took me about 1 hour and I'm fairly tech savvy. I did have to call tech support after I noticed my signal kept disappearing.

Simple, reliable router

Phil, Amazon
9 July 2010
  • Summary: Overall, it's a nice simple, straightforward, reliable router. I've had mine for years, and set it up easily with multiple ISPs/high speed internet providers, and it's worked well with macs, pcs, wireless printers, etc.

Old Reliable

Christopher Day, Amazon
25 April 2010
  • Summary: I use a number of 802.11 b/g routers in homes and have always preferred these older D-Link 524's for three reasons: Form factor - They are in the form of a sturdy, compact rectangle that fits nicely in a crowdwd component-and-cable Leviton in-wall network cabinet.

Pretty stable router

David A. Derolph, Amazon
29 December 2008
  • Summary: I'm amazed at the number of negative reviews here. Mine is rev. A3; I bought it in March 2006. I updated firmware one or two times - once, I believe - since I've owned. The only problem I've had is that it has, on a few occasions, stopped sending a wirelss signal to my notebook PC.

Nice entry-level router, chokes on Nortel VPN

Harrkev, Amazon

  • Summary: I like this product, a lot. It is a great entry-level router. It does not have fancy things like QOS, but this is a budget router. D-Link even has a feature that is hard to find on other routers: static DHCP. With this feature, you can assign certain MAC addresses to pre-specified IP addresses.

D-Link make it pretty easy to get a wireless network up-and-running

Peter H, Amazon
13 December 2007
  • Summary: This D-Link wireless router was easy to connect to for configuration but it took a visit to the D-Link site to figure out how to secure my network as the configuration utility was not intuitive. My two PCs use the G-122 USB key to connect to the network.

Works like a top. Set it and forget it.

Amazon Customer, Amazon
29 January 2007
  • Summary: I have had this router for about 6 months. I upgraded from the 514 in order to get "G" coverage. If you take your time, follow the instructions, add a step to tweak the router using the online tools to suit your set up you will find this router works great. I literally set it up and forget it.

d link wireless router rocks

Riq, Amazon
29 January 2007
  • Summary: While the setup disc that came with the router did not help me set it up, I was able to call the manufacturer for support. It did cost me an additional twenty-five dollars to get their help since the product was out of warranty but I was very satisfied with the overall experience.
