Summary: I use a laptop and use their software that comes with the unit to update firmware 1 unit at a time, the software does not works well with 4 in the system the same time. If you want this unit to work with more than 2 in a system and does not know how to update firmware, stay away from this version.
Pros: Works out of the box with 2 unit in the system if you only need 2 in your system, the throughput is acceptable to stream 1080 HD movie
Cons: If need more than 2 in the system I did the following to make them work: (I use 4 in the house, all are DHP 311 AV) 1. Update the fimrware (1 unit at a time) 2. set the password in the same room AC outlet first before deployment (see instruction how to set password)
Summary: I have been pleasantly surprised with this item. It worked with no configuration out of the box. The wireless signal in our bedroom wasn't very good so our Roku was struggling. I plugged these in and we were online wired and streaming HD in a few moments.
Summary: The product works great for direct connection application but Dlink doesn't make it easy to distinguish which poweline model you need. In my case I need wireless in my room in my basement and the DHP-w310av is the correct model description. And this product (dhp-311av) is not supported in Canada.
Summary: I testie with 4 computers and it worked perfect. 4 player online playing MW3. 10 MB ADSL works perfect. No packet loss or low signal. 20 words please!!!for a review, I'm no expert. Amazon review -1. Good, buy the product worked perfectly under extreme conditions.
Summary: I have an XBox that has always been a marginal distance from the wi-fi router at the front of the house. I have tried Wi-Fi extenders but always seem to have problems. I bought kit and plugged it in. I was up and running in minutes and now I have full signal strength all the time and no drop outs.
Pros: No installation required, unless you count plugging it into the wall outlet. It started right up. I get 30 Mbps instead of the 8 I was getting from our awful router that comes standard. No more wireless connection glitches killing my hardcore Diablo characters!
Summary: They work well over short distance because there was only a max of 25ft between. I think longer distance not so much but I was a doubter and now I am a believer
Pros: Right out of the box these things worked like a charm. My house was built in 2006 and I needed a bridge from computer room to living room. They work very well giving me excellent connection between two routers.
Summary: I've read where others have had some problems. I don't know why, unless it's just coincidence they have purchased a bad one. For me, I must have been lucky. I did notice someone states it won't work with a power strip.
Pros: This is my second order. I was surprised with how well they worked, that I'm buying another. Faster than my wifi.
Cons: In the past 10 years I've used Newegg, there is usually something I can say as a con, but with these, I can't think of one.
Summary: I was looking for a way to expand my Wifi around the house a bit more this was the answer. for the price I got it at I bout 3 sets and each work right out of the box no problems. No need in type in long passwords for wifi. it was well worth the money I paid for it.
Pros: Plug and in play no need to install software or anything no lag
