Works Great

Thomas O., Newegg
2 July 2014
  • Pros: I replaced an DAP-1522 with this unit. To date I have had zero issues. Extremely easy to setup and works seamlessly with the DIR-868L that I am using.
  • Cons: some mention the led lights are too bright, I just turned it so it doesn't shine directly at me, no issue.

  • Summary: Mine came with factory firmware (flash code) that was buggy. v1. the AP lamp (to LED) was dead. so was the wifi transmitter. 2.4g-AP , had problems. I flashed it to 1.02.bin level and the unit works far better than my dreams. Always flash routers ,the first thing. (for many reasons besides security) keep it up do date too. Dlink see links below. The steps can be complex, due to the many application, configurations."vast" get the wired network working first.

WAP + Switch - Just What the Dr Ordered!

WiFi Guy, B&H Photo
27 April 2013
  • Excerpt: For 3-4 years had DAP-1522 as WAP + 4-port switch in upstairs gameroom ... just died one day. Was about to replace it, but D-Link now has DAP-1525, and after reading a few online reviews, bought it @lowest price, from B&H... arrived a few days later (fast!). Followed CD instructions and had connected to network and Wi-Fi working in ~30 minutes. Kids say WiFI now faster than before on notebooks and smartphones. We're all happy!
  • Pros: Easy To Set Up, Sensitive, Worked 1st Time
  • Cons: None

Using all D-Link brand components made for excellent coverage theres no spot in my home w/o max wi-fi signal as a result.

Improves range of wireless so it works within whole 2500 sqft house with excellent signal. fairly simple to set up. a breeze if you use wps but that isn't real secure. web admin a bit confusing but product extremely good with no dropouts.

DAP-1525

Gunnar H., Newegg
21 July 2011
  • Summary: The documentation and manual is not great. I am still confused as to what some of the buttons/lights on the front do/signify. I understand the information for these is probably in a part of the manual I have not seen but on something like this hardware LEDs and buttons should be explained on the box due to the central role they play. The CD seems to be little more than a digital version of the manual.
  • Pros: Excellent options, quality, and ease of use.
  • Cons: None that I have found so far.
