Summary: Even one egg is too generous. I tried and failed to set it up as a range extender for my dlink DIR-655. It can't hold a connection even when parked practically next to the router (signal strength as measured by the dir-655 UI is > 85% for the short intervals it stays connected).
Cons: 1) Web interface crashes or times-out every other click which makes configuration a nightmare 2) Can't retain a connection 3) Doesn't work even when configured
Summary: I was and still looking for a wifi booster/extender. Was highly recommended this in a shop and bought it on the spot but still didn't help with "wifi deadzone problem" of the room in the furthest corner of my house. Mine is an awkward shaped old house with walls, stairs and air wells everywhere.
Cons: Requires me to reset/power cycle the AP two or three times per day. None of my wireless devices are able to re-connect once they get disconnected due to sleep/hibernation. Re-connection always results in time out error.
Summary: I bought this to extend my wireless network from my Dlink DIR-825 so we can use our laptops ans tablets outside by the pool and on the patio. Because of all the cons I listed, I returned it to newegg. I am going to try a netgear or something else. I do not recommend to by this item.
Cons: VERY difficult to set up. There is no easy way to tell if it's working or not or if you are connected to the DAP-1360 or the original router. I finally got it to work, but after a couple of days or hour, it would stop working. The differents devices were not picking up our signal anymore. Even in...
Summary: I bought this to extend the range of my D-Link DGL-4500 router. I have a long house and my office with the internet connection is at one end and the bedrooms, tv's etc are at the other end. It was a bit confusing to get everything set up, but I finally did. It worked great...for a while.
Summary: Being a d-link product I trusted it (I switched from linksys and netgear never did anything for me), however, I'm disappointed. I now realize that I'd better trust the newegg reviews rather than the brand.
Pros: It's d-link
Cons: have to re-configure the ip and subnet mask of the wireless card. instructions are horrible.
Summary: Wish I'd seen all the other reviews before I bought this thing. I was just following the recommendations of the d-link people because I already had a d-link 655 router. I lost a couple days off my life on tech support with these people trying every possible thing to get it to work.
Summary: What the heck D-Link? I used to dig you. Think I'm going back to Linksys after this. Ridiculous. I just LOVE RMA'ing stuff.
Pros: Could I give this a -1 Egg?
Cons: Gee where to start. A: Was able to set it up so that it connected to my DIR-655. B. Devices could connect to the DAP-1360 (you can tell by the wireless table in the DIR-655, the MAC of the connected device and the MAC of the "Repeater" have the same IP. C. Said devices get about .01mb down/.5mb u...
