I may have received a dud.

Felix Ng, Amazon
31 July 2014
  • Summary: This product has vastly improved my internet connection... somewhat. Previously I had a high-latency, wireless solution which was suitable for low-bandwidth browsing. Replacing it with powerline networking miraculously improved my connection... for a few days.

Difficult to set up

DougLas M. Frolich, Amazon
21 September 2013
  • Summary: Did not meet our needs and the support was poor. We were better of just running a second ethernet cable to a second router to our third level to extend the WiFi.

  • Summary: The “Linksys PLWK400 Powerline AV Wireless Network Extender Kit” would not work at all for me. I fussed with it for a whole day. I paid attention to all instructions and suggestions. I used only wall outlets (not extension cords), tried different outlets around the house, etc.

Could never make it work.

Jorge R. Santana, Amazon

  • Summary: Instructions lousy. Never worked. Lost the investment. Dumped in a box. Could never register it either; facts in web page did not match with unit specs.

Dependant on house wiring

Michael T from Maryland, Linksys
19 January 2013
  • Excerpt: Be careful of expecting too much from this product. Although the product itself may be well intended, if the wiring in your home has ANY issue, they will not work. I bought two sets o these and lost a great deal of money when I found out that the wiring in my home would not carry the data.

  • Summary: I bought these powerline adapters because I thought they were more reliable than wireless, big mistake there, you get optimal rates only at the right outlets you choose. Tried everything to improve their performance, including firmware updates and factory reset.
  • Pros: Easy set-up
  • Cons: weak reception/transmission, needs positioning for optimal signal, poor wifi

Serious Fatal Flaw

Jeff, Amazon
23 November 2012
  • Summary: Installed easily, functioned briefly. The main issue was that I could no longer connect to my networked PS3. I contacted Linksys and we quickly determined an IP conflict. I was then told and this is a direct quote from the Live Chat support from Jeffrey (18183) to All Participants: I am very sorry...
