Summary: This item is working, I am to using it on my Dell Desk top PC with Windows 7 pro 64 Bit with Intel Core 2, 2.9GHZ with 4 GB RAM, I have a Dell Laptop with windows 7 Pro 64 Bit 4GB RAM , Intel 2.5GHz, 2 core. I put both nearby and tested. The lap top internet speed is 4 Mb/s average upload and download and signal strength very good , the Desktop which I am using this USB Adopter, the speed is 1 Mb/s upload and download so it is working, but the speed and signal strength...
Summary: I have installed three of these devices on three separate PCs. They were simple to install, just ensure you follow the instructions that come with your unit or you may be calling tech support. There are a couple of drawbacks to these units. The USB cord provided to remotely connect it where a stronger WiFi signal may be obtained is too short for this purpose, and cannot be removed to be replaced by a longer USB cable.
Summary: This seems to be a dependable adapter, but not good at picking up and holding any but very strong signals. I bought the Linksys AE3000 to replace a much older Netgear N150 adapter. The N150 had worked well for several years: but then driver software glitches began to ruin its performance; and Netgear had ceased providing technical support on this obsolete model.
but considering the size and price of it I would expect it to have as good wireless range as my laptops - but it doesn't

Summary: Works quite well, but considering the size and price of it I would expect it to have as good wireless range as my laptops - but it doesn't. My laptops have 4 or 5 bars to my router, this only achieved 3, and I could feel the difference.
Whilst it does allow a wireless connection, beware. As in my case it didn't provide the whole story

Summary: I am certainly now able to have a wireless connection from my PC however one of the major reasons for buying this also was to avoid moving the router from its position in the lounge to the study. The two rooms sit back to back with each other but despite this I ended up with a very poor signal and ended up buying a wireless booster as well to maintain any speed. I think others have also made the comment , the range does appear to be limited so beware!
Summary: When I popped the install CD into my computer it claimed that my computer wasn't compatible. The box mentions that the device is only compatible with XP, Vista and Win7. This is not reflected on the product description that amazon provides. However, it appears that Windows 8 is able to use the windows 7 drivers in compatibility mode. I followed the instructions found on the website below and everything appears to be working fine.
