Summary: I curerntlky use a Netgear N USB adapter in my Lenovo laptop. However, it sticks out too much and is very fragile so I went for this Belkin unit which would fit in the card slot. The result was reception of about on third the transmission rate of the Netgear unit. So I don't think too much of this unit as it never was able give me anywhere near the same transmission rate as the Netgear USB model. I don't recommend it at any price.
Summary: Took longer than expected to arrive, but within the time frame published, so can't complain. Can't tell which version of hardware, but came with latest version of firmware available from Belkin. Ran the CD installation, put the device into the laptop slot, and was connected to the wireless router and internet. That simple. Purchased this unit for the price and the pre-N specifications that match our Belkin pre-N wireless router.
Excerpt: I got this router around 4 years ago. It has pretty good internet speeds. The signal can go from downstairs where I have it connected to the modem all the way upstairs to the opposite side of the house with 3-4 bars out of 5. Media server speeds are pretty good for streaming HD movies and fairly fast transfer speeds although I haven't experienced the advertised 300mbps but about 100mbps on average. Over the years this router has been starting to deteriorate.
Summary: Updated 1/1/13- I could not keep a connection after using this for a month or so. Constantly needed to be reset several times per week. My ISP recommend Linksys, so I went back to my old router. Maybe it's just my ISP, but this seemed a bit buggy for my set up. (original post below) I bought this Belkin wireless N to upgrade my speed over my older Linksys wireless G network.
Summary: Just a very reliable wireless router with a lot of fetaures that makes it ideal for home or small office without paying premium for it. Love its performance, how easy it is to setup. The speed and wireless range is above what I expected. For me its the best wireless router I latelly purchased.
Summary: was defective product./bought it thought it wouldent be perfict/did exspect it to be functionable.it took over 20 min. to come on when pluged in. over heated and shut down in a few min. wouldent restart for a exstended time. was very frusterating ,could not stay connected to internet. bought a new router and it works well .
Summary: Knowing computers anyway, I never expect anything to be just simple and easy, especially when it comes to setting up a piece of equipment that has to work with several different types of computers and different types of connections. This router however was the easiest that I've ever seen! it's been up and running for several weeks now without interruption and I haven't heard anyone complaining that their connection is slow or not working.
