Summary: Three problems: 1) Hangs 1-2 times per week for me. Others also experience hanging (Google for numerous similar stories). I'm using the latest firmware (F5D8232-4_WW_1.00.15). Affects wired and wireless. Power cycling is the only solution I've found. 2) I can't reach tech support on their advertised line after 3 attempts. I'm using 800-2BELKIN x2263. I consistently get a fast busy signal after entering the extension.
Summary: Complete dissatisfaction!! I bought this modem with hope to extend the wireless coverage in my house. Unfortunately, no matter where I place the modem or what channel I set the coverage does not improve. In fact, my old Netgear54Mbit wireless router works better than Belkin. I technical support was not able to resolve my issue. I wish I could return the item for a full refund.
Summary: I bought this to replace a 4 year old Belkin wireless G router, hoping to increase the speed and range. Unfortunately the N1 has been a huge dissapointment. I live in a fairly modern house and there are no strong signals to interfere with performance. I have a mixture of G and N devices on the network and it is obvious that the router can't cope. It seems to constantly switch mode and drops the conection at least every hour, usually more often.
Summary: Been using a linksys modem router for 4 yrs now, which recently died, so opted for this belkin. Looks good, but experiencing many problems setting up. The setup wizard could not detect my network card, so power cycled the N1, which then detected it. Would not accept my ISP settings, and when it eventualy did cannot get any web pages. Cannot even access the embedded web server, and it is very unstable and slow when it does open. Keeps hanging too!
Summary: I bought one of these & it doesn't work. First of all the setup assistant software could not find it, so I unplugged everything, plugged my old modem back in, then downloaded the updated file from the Belkin site. The new setup assistant partly worked, but obviously does not like BT Broadband (my ISP) as it would not configure. I have contacted BT about the appropriate settings & they were very helpful.
Summary: I bought one of these to use on Talk talk (which it's supposed to work with) as it supposedly had good range. It was a complete disaster, and simply wouldn't even acknowledge that an ADSL line was present. (My existing wired ADSL modem worked fine, and all settings were carefully checked). Belkin couldn't explain and said it must be faulty so it was exchanged, and the replacement wouldn't work either.
