Excerpt: Followed the installation instructions precisely. Every time I plugged the adapter into a USB port, the computer froze and had to be powered down. Yes, I have an obsolete operating system (WinXP) but so do millions of other people.
I disabled my antivirus software before attempting installation.
Summary: this product did not work on my computer . after downloading the drivers and tried the wireless adapter their was no connection. kept reading bad drivers. I decided to try on a older computer and worked. I have windows 7 asus computer and having problems working.
Summary: I followed the instructions after installing the supplied cd rom and although the computer recognizes the network adapter the drivers weren't properly installed. after being on the phone wit asus support for some time the lady was hard to understand and she wasent much help either.

Summary: Crappy Product, after hours figuring out to install it on Win 7 64bit without CD, turns out the utility in the website is made for Vista and installs on Windows 7 giving a Code 37 Error.. Anyhoo, I tried using the adapter, extremely slow speeds and low coverage, basically unusable.
Summary: I bought this with the expectation of plugging it in and it working out of the box on my machine running Linux Mint 16. At first all seemed well and good. However five minutes later it dropped connection.
Summary: So I upgraded my os to Win8, installed the drivers and plug dongle in and nothing. I then uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled with the ASUS utility/driver and still nothing. No blinking lights on the dongle. Win8 doesn't see it except in Device manager.
Pros: -Great when it was working
Cons: -Windows 7 does not automatically recognize and install drivers, -Doesn't work with Windows 8
Summary: This thing is garbage. I was initially impressed with it--$20 and I was getting roughly 80mbps over wireless. Sure, my laptop was faster, but 80mbps would be more than sufficient for streaming video to my living room.
Pros: -Plug and play in Windows 8, -Transfers almost as fast as the cheapo Athero chip in my 3 year old laptop--when the N13 is literally 2 feet from the router, and the laptop is 30 feet away.
Cons: -Appalling transmission speed at anything beyond about 20 feet., -Blocks adjacent USB ports., -Required driver installation on Win 7 and below., -Drops connection since it hovers around 2 bars at ranges where my laptop sees 4 or 5. After dropping, it generally takes a replug to be able to reconnect.
