Summary: If you're not a techy person I wouldn't recommend this product, first off the software that comes with it is wortless and outdated. Go to the website and download the latest version. On my particular laptop the sound settings have to be change so that the bluetooth device is the default sound device...I'm using the dongle to output music to a Soundfreaq speaker. Now that it's set up..it works great.
Summary: Windows 7 home premium, error(Code 43), Nothing I do, tried, has any change on this at all. Spend a couple of days researching this problem. Nothing worked. I love ASUS products, disappointed with this one.
Summary: Bought it to use with Windows 8, but it is not compatible. I assumed the Win7 drivers would work, but they do not. It doesn't say it works with windows 8, so I can't complain. It only cost 7 bucks, so no big deal.
Summary: My biggest complaint is that when I port it between my two computers, I need to reinstall it each time. This does not take long, but in the world of plug and play in which we now live this is annoying. Otherwise, once paired the device functions impeccably.
Summary: This is a good device for me, I don't really use it much. The single is pretty weak if it's placed behide the computer, I recommend putting it on a extension cord or a front USB port. This device is a bit wide, so it was hard to place it beside another USB plug. This device at first did not work with my Windows 7 PC. I had to download the latest drivers from the ASUS website first. Overall it's a ok device.
Pros: Cheap and affordable, Small compact size
Cons: Weak Single, Must download latest drivers, A bit wide
Summary: This ASUS bluetooth works on linux also. You just need to install the Ath3k driver for your distribution. Actually, the chip is from Atheros series 3000 and has USB2.0 connection but is not so fast. You get around 80KB/s transferring files between PC and Mobile with 100% signal strength. So, if you have a 4G (or even 3G) connection in your mobile and want to use it you will not get the most of it.
Summary: Seemingly dead, the manufacturer should update the product description. This little sleeping beauty with/without LED, +1/-1 star. I changed my decorator with a Belkin cause I already have Iogear and some 99 cents generic BT adapters with led. All adapters I have work no different to me.
Summary: I bought this dongle to be used with a Hackintosh build, if you're not going to do that then the rest of this review is irrelevant. If you're going to use this dongle on a Hackintosh build consider this: there are other better supported dongles out there. This dongle can be used but many are reporting that some devices such as the Magic Mouse or Magic Trackpad don't. I successfully use my Apple Wireless Keyboard with this dongle and that's all I currently need.
Summary: I was hoping that since it is an ASUS product it would be of good quality. However, the device is not reconized automatically in Windows 7. I have to unplug and replug it every time. Ubuntu reconize it right away though... I hope some driver update will correct this problem one day. On another side, it is easy to put in and out of a USB port. Also, the price can be very good when it is on sale.
Pros: + Small form factor, + Easy to plug and unplug
