Summary: As a long time ASUS customer of nearly 15 years - 4 motherboards and a monitor, this was the most poorly executed product of ASUS that I've seen. HIGHLY ERRATIC PERFORMANCE during use... signal strength all over the meter. 1. Driver failed during installation with some cryptic error about a Microsoft runtime library not having enough space. Why I don't know as the hard drive has 332 of 453 GB of free space. 2.
Excerpt: Easy setup and great range - I expect nothing less from ASUS. Paired with an Asus RT-AC68U 802.11ac router it works flawlessly - the signal gets thru two 8 inch concrete walls and separated by a concrete floor.
Pros: Easy To Set Up, Fast, Fast Connection Speed, Reliable connection, Secure Connection
Summary: I have had an AC router for some time, the ASUS RT-AC66u. The router install improved my wireless 802.11n speed from 20mb to about 35mb. I was curious to see how well an AC connection would do. Install was easy, plugged it in, ran the driver disk, all done. About 2 minutes overall. The sign in page pops up. I point to the strongest connection, put in my PW and I'm all set.
Summary: Will not connect on one computer at 5GHz with 2 different routers that support 5Ghz, The 2nd computer I tried it on drivers freeze on startup after initial installation. No separate driver support that I found. Drivers are bundled with the software. Very disappointing for the price with little support. Asus at one time was a trusted brand but I would stay away from this adapter. Very pleased with the Netgear nighthawk router and the netgear WiFi 811.ac adapters.
