Summary: I've been on a search for a little while now in an attempt to find a wireless HDMI unit that would function consistently for a range of about 3 feet. I have a solid wood wall (really odd I know) that my TV is mounted on, so wires cannot be run in wall. I have used the Rocketfish wireless HDMI kit and the Briteview BV-1222, neither worked for an extended period of time with only three feet and direct line of sight between the transmitter and receiver.
Summary: I bought the ASUS WiCast as a graceful solution to my cable jack being on one side of my living room, and my TV being on the other side which just so happens to be the only legitimate location for it. I have Comcast Xfinity Digital Cable and this product did the trick. The Comcast cable box has an HDMI out (for those who might be wondering) and it literally was as simple as plug everything in, and it works.
Summary: I have been actively looking for a way to transmit from my cable box to the LED TV in my room. I've previously been using a Slingbox for this purpose but that seems to have stopped working for some odd reason or other. Then, a friend bought the ASUS WiCast and I thought this is what I'd need. So, I plonked down the moola. This works. It is one of the easiest setups I've done. I got everything going in 15 minutes (including moving cabinets to get to the power outlets).
Summary: works as described... no lag what so ever. Only problem we have is losing diplay settings on pc when you turn off TV. (using tv as 3rd display monitor)... must reconfigure display settings everytime we shut it off and turn it back on.
Summary: I moved into a new house recently, actually, a very tiny studio. This is the reason for the 3-star rating concerning range as I do not have the ability to test its limits. Anyways, I have a lot of electronics and did not want to have a bunch of wires crossing the floor eating up my real estate. So, I figured now was a good time to go wireless with most of my products. I got a great deal on this product, and read quite a few reviews.
Summary: Very satisfied with this product. Easy to setup and very easy to use. Quality of wireless picture transfer and online movie streaming is excellent! I would have rated it at the highest level, but nothing is perfect except one... Would recommend and would buy for someone eles as a gift. FYI: Only setback is your computer and your TV must have an HDMI connection. My old laptop has only the AV connection and my TV does not.
Summary: To start off, this product does exactly what it says it does. I put it through a variety of tests to see what my limitations were as I figure out the best setup. My primary interest in this device is being able to use my high-powered desktop PC with my plasma as an advanced theater/gaming setup.
Summary: I like the quality of this little unit. It is easy and intuitive to use but the only thing I would like to see is the option to add multiple receivers. The range is not great once the box is out of line of sight but I would still like to be able to run multiple tv's from the same box.
Summary: Ok, so this is my first review on here and I have to say this thing works really good. I have XMBC on my home pc with a extra drive for all my media. I had been thinking of just building a machine to be just a media server but found this. My computer sits across the room from my TV (15 feet) and it has good transfer and sync on HD/1080P video.
