Summary: This is an absolutely awful product with exceptionally bad after-sales service. The product provides intermittent wifi amongst other issues. But the worst is there is no solution. After-sales pass you from pillar to post (over 6 email interactions and still no resolution). Honest truth rather than bother with the service department, just throw the product in the bin, it will save you a lot of frustration.
Summary: Two of us spent half a day trying to connect this router finally decided it was faulty and sent it back.Way to complicated with no meaningfull instructions. Replaced with bog standard router from plusnet connected within 10 seconds ,be warned!
Summary: I used to work for a broadband Internet Service Provider for 8 years, so know a bit about ADSL and ADSL modems. I bought this router as an emergency replacement. It was running the latest firmware, I also get a very good ADSL signal (my BT exchange is about 40ft away). None of my 5Ghz devices could connect to the router (one of its main features) but otherwise the 2.4 GHz service was OK.
Summary: The first one I received had to be returned due to a hardware fault (kernel errors in the log every 5 seconds). Replacement item had even more faults that the first unit. It would either successfully connect to the internet or the WIFI signal would work, never both. Upgraded to the newest firmware, caused even more problems. Gave up, returning.
Summary: Firstly, I did not find it as easy to set up as some people have - for some reason, the quick set-up routine missed out a number of the screens shown in the CD manual. The continuing problem, though was that it didn't stay reliably connected to the internet via ADSL and that wireless connection to devices dropped periodically. Each time this happened it needed to be rebooted and signed in again.
Summary: I brought this router in December 1913. It has now failed - the fault is continually disconnecting from my DSL supplier every 10 - 15 minutes. I think it may be because it is over heating. Poor design?
Summary: This Asus Modem / Router worked for 24 hoiurs. Then out of the blue it dropped the connection. I checked the ADSL provider settings the ADSL light was stable but the router just wouldn't connect my ADSL. Plugged my backup router back in and everything worked fine. It's going back.
Summary: Occasional disconnections with the Orange supplied router were frustrating my son for his gaming, therefore I purchased this sophisticated looking asus. Despite the range of adjustments the ASUS could not be made to be stable. Also the 2nd wireless band had almost no useful range. Good on paper, but no use in our small mid terrace house.
