Summary: Two of us spent half a day trying to connect this router finally decided it was faulty and sent it back.Way to complicated with no meaningfull instructions. Replaced with bog standard router from plusnet connected within 10 seconds ,be warned!
Summary: The first one I received had to be returned due to a hardware fault (kernel errors in the log every 5 seconds). Replacement item had even more faults that the first unit. It would either successfully connect to the internet or the WIFI signal would work, never both.
Summary: Firstly, I did not find it as easy to set up as some people have - for some reason, the quick set-up routine missed out a number of the screens shown in the CD manual. The continuing problem, though was that it didn't stay reliably connected to the internet via ADSL and that wireless connection to...
Summary: I brought this router in December 1913. It has now failed - the fault is continually disconnecting from my DSL supplier every 10 - 15 minutes. I think it may be because it is over heating. Poor design?
Summary: Occasional disconnections with the Orange supplied router were frustrating my son for his gaming, therefore I purchased this sophisticated looking asus. Despite the range of adjustments the ASUS could not be made to be stable. Also the 2nd wireless band had almost no useful range.
Summary: Spent lot of time trying to get this working and then gave up. The ADSL light kept blinking indicating sync problem. My old ADSL modem works with no problem on the same line. The router software does not give any options to manually configure or check anything.
Summary: This was purchased to add 5GHz support that the otherwise excellent Billion 7800n lacks. Sadly the 5GHz signal is so poor as to be unusable unless standing next to the router. 2.4GHz is also some 5-10dB down on the Billion as measured with inSSIDer.
Summary: This router worked well for nearly 48 hours then developed a major fault; it intermittently dropped the connection. At times the connection went on and off, then back on every few seconds. Tested all connections and rebooted but problem persisted.
Excerpt: Easy to install and configure. Wireless performance out the box at distance throughout the house was poor - even more so than the BT Home Hub 3.0 it replaced (and located in the same position). Firmware update didn't help. Tweaked a few settings in attempt to improve it to no avail.
Summary: Spent half a morning trying to connect this router to the O2 ADSL network, without success. The automated login script is written for morons, as you can't change anything afterwards, but need to re-type every single detail every time.
