Nothing special

Adam, Staples
  • Excerpt: I bought this unit to replace my old WiFi Access Point hoping the range will increase. It did not. My old Netgear Access Point has better range so I decided to not replace it. I think the name "Amped" is just to lure customers to buy it hoping it is really amped powerful Access Point. It works fine but the range is not any better than other less expensive WiFi Access Points available in stores.

Good Product

Blipat33,, TigerDirect.com
16 June 2013
  • Summary: Well packaged and easy to set up. Not a whole lot better than the Netgear N600 that I replaced it with. According to the promises and descriptions on the Amped website, this was going to dramatically improve my WiFi signal, well it didn't. It is simply an alternative to items like the N600 not an upgrade like your led to believe.

User Review

RemixedCat, Walmart
7 November 2012
  • Summary: Pros: HARDCORE COVERAGE! Easy installation Lots of options dual band USB sharing 4 guest networks per band fast nice setup menus that look good and easy to navigate lots of security support connections are solid Cons: only thing is lack of print server, other than that it's perfect. Other Thoughts: This AMPED WIRELESS! access point has hardcore coverage!! I can stream a youtube vid from 150 ft away from the AP (outside down the road) with not much effort.

Easy install but poor signal

Dwayne, FutureShop
23 May 2013
  • Summary: It is nice that it is a wireless access point not a router so setup was simple but I am disappointed with the signal strenght. The D-Link DIR-655 had a stronger signal. About 50 and two walls is to much for the amped access point, had to get another one to extend the signal.
