Does not work with WPA wireless unless you are using Linux

Summary: I bought this for use with a Dell Axim X5 running Windows 2002 PPC version. My Axim is the 300mhz one. The card installed OK but my network is WPA enabled. This card only works with WEP networks under Windows. I was able to use the install CD because it was compatible with my PDA's OS. (I'm using Windows 7 32-bit on my laptop, so I'm not completely in the dark ages.
Summary: I have a Yamaha Mark IV Disklavier piano which uses the Ambicom WL1100C-CF adapter in the remote pda. My previous adapter became damaged. A new one would have cost several hundred dollars. I bought a used one for $79. It works great! The only negative is this week it is down to $59 on Amazon. I could have saved $20 if I waited a week.
Summary: I loaded the software as per and i was wi fi'ed. i am now able to use my dell axim x5 (yes the old one) on my nursing unit to look up any thing i need. I have had absolutely no trouble at all. the only downfall i can see is that it is a power hog. I have 3 batteries so i really am not bothered by this.
Summary: The description for this adapter claims to support "full privacy". Don't expect that it means "supports anything better than old, WEP-standard security"--it doesn't. The typos on the box copy should have been a clue. With some hesitation, I returned this adapter for another one by the same company , and the difference was surprising.
Summary: good reception kismet at open zaurus is swell low power consumption works in windows CE 2.x/3.x windows CE 4.1 driver has WEP only 11mbs no wpa in windows, use wpa_suplicent in GNU/linux small and light
Summary: I tried to use it in my Dell X50 and it hardly worked, was too slow, too short range, you have to unplug and plug it bacl again and again. I other words, do not buy this if you have a Dell X50, you will just waste your money and time trying to make it work.
