Summary: The Wine Chiller acually heats up instead of cooling down. I plugged it in and it began at 71 degrees (room temp). It slowly rose to 84 degrees before I decided to unplug it. I called the Vinotemp company and was directed to voice mail with a message that the voice mailbox was full. I left an email message about my problem. I never received a response.
Summary: Be warned before purchasing anything from Vinotemp, as their customer service policeis are less than customer friendly. I received the VT-6TEDS model, via UPS. Box was in perfect shape, with no sign of damage or shipping related problems. Looking as if everything was in good order, I wrapped the box, and presented to my wife as a Christmas gift. Upon opening the box, we discovered that the stainless steel door had numerous scratches and a large rub mark.
Summary: I bought this just over a year ago and it worked pretty well the whole time. A couple times I caught some questionable readings on the display but it did seem to maintain the temperature pretty well. That was until 1 month after the warranty expired and it just stopped cooling one day. I bought my last toaster over 25 years ago and it still works like the day I bought it. Why can't Vinotemp give me at least half the service my toaster has given me?
Summary: Vinotemp has one of the best looking wine coolers around. I've had fairly good luck with my 6 bottle unit but I've had to replace the power module twice and now it totally went dead after 4 years of good service. It runs constantly so it will add to your electric bill. But now it needs major repair. It's really not worth it to repair but if your looking for the best looking wine cooler around that will last just a few years, you can't go wrong.
Summary: I bought this from Home Depot for my mom as a Christmas present last year. It has just stopped working (the display and light still work but it simply will not get cold). So here I am thinking that I am still within a 1 year warranty. Well I went to the manual and of course the warranty was something like 60 or 90 days. That's unbelievable for a $150 product. An attempt to contact Vinotemp through their website went unanswered.
Summary: When the package arrived the door was not attached. I fixed it without too much effort. Since then the door has come off once under normal use. Other than a those two issues with the door I'm very happy with this wine fridge.
