Stopped running after a year, the dual-zone never worked, shelves stick

Day, Amazon
9 February 2014
  • Summary: My FIL bought this from Costco, the dual-zone never worked and he got frustrated and gave it to us. After about a year, it stopped working. In addition, the wood shelves do NOT easily slide out. Definitely not with three bottles on them but some don't slide well even when empty. I have to jimmy them up and down while trying to pull out.

Vinotemp imposes a horrible, anti-consumer "non-disparagement clause"

Snarky "S", Amazon
21 January 2014
  • Summary: In addition to all the other issues, this is why I won't buy from Vinotemp: "Vinotemp imposes a horrible, anti-consumer "non-disparagement clause" In 2007, I purchased a Vinotemp wine cooler. It is a large, costly, two-door appliance capable of maintaining hundreds of bottles of wine at an appropriate temperature for long-term cellaring. I have generally been pleased with the product since I bought it.

Good and Cheap

Tony, Amazon
4 September 2013
  • Summary: The unit has a nice feature of being able to store white and red wines at your selected temp. The size is very good and was perfect for the area we wanted to place it. And moreover, It's so cheap. I love it very much.

Waste of Money

Patrick A. Thompson, Amazon
27 June 2013
  • Summary: At first I thought the product was great. Yes, its not the highest end quality but for the price...I think we got it for $350 on sale...it worked great for 13 months. Just when the warranty expired, so did my VinoTemp. I called to get an estimate on repair and its going to be another $200. From other posts I've read, it looks like others have experienced the same thing so my suggestion is do not buy VinoTemp, gog with a Haier! That's what I'm doing.

Not worth it!

Vince B., Amazon
19 July 2012
  • Summary: First, I did not purchase this unit through Amazon. The shelves are very difficult to slide in and out. Less than 2 years old and the unit stop working. Vinotemp has been no help and it is not worth repairing. I also had a 440 bottle Vinotemp unit and the Breezeair cooling unit stopped working twice in 3 years. I will not purchase another Vinotemp unit at any price!

Poor quality

dpender, Amazon
19 April 2012
  • Summary: I initially purchased this unit through Home Depot in late 2010. Two months later the unit failed but was replaced at no charge by Vinotemp. More recently I have had the bottom cooling unit fail. Now they want $47 plus shipping for a DIY replacement. I will probably dump the Vinotemp in favor of something with better quality. Overall bad experience.

6 February 2012
  • Summary: Don't waste your money. I received the wine cellar damage, they changed it for a "new one" (took more than a month) and this one just worked for a week. I threw it away. And the customer service it's terribleee!!!!!!!!

Good, but missing parts !

Mad Dog, reviews.lowes.com
10 January 2012
  • Summary: When it arrived (23 Dec 2011) it was missing one of the legs and the plastic cover over the top hinge of the refrigerator door was cracked. I am still waiting (10 Jan2012) for the missing leg and the plastic cover to be sent to me. When this happens, I will be very happy with my purchase. It actually holds 21 bottles, the drawers are easy to work with and the two zones (upper and lower) keep the temps that I set for them. I like the effect of the inside blue light bulb.
  • Pros: High quality, space saver

Wine cooler that has 2 zones and a stainless door

joanne hughes, reviews.lowes.com
6 January 2012
  • Summary: I bought myself this wine cooler for christmas and I'm so happy I did. It almost filled up, and I am able to put my whites on the top and the reds on the bottom area. Keeps the temperature just right and its quite. I was thinking to build it in, but saw in the manual to keep it free standing, so its on the side of a cabinet but looks great.
