Summary: I recently purchased a Vinotemp VT-12TEDS-2Z from Craigslist. The lower zone did not work. I removed the back and found the lower fan was not moving and was full of dust and lint. After cleaning it, it was still stiff to turn. The blade on these little fans should spin freely.
Summary: I ordered this Wine Cooler from Amazon after researching on another site for a wine cooler with these specific dimensions. I was hesitant because of all the poor reviews, but understood the simple fix for when this cooler bit the dust. I was prepared for that.
Really great wine fridge - shockingly good for the price!
7 February 2014
Summary: We've had three different wine fridges in our kitchen in the past 7 years…one was cheap (lasted a year) one was expensive (lasted 3 years) and one died almost right away. This fridge got good reviews and figured it was worth a try b/c the price was fair.
Summary: I purchased this because my wife wanted a wine fridge and she found this. Price was good and with Prime shipping I couldn’t say no. To say the least I read the reviews after purchasing it and was a bit scared and almost canceled.
Summary: After less than 1.5 years the control panel went blank and the top zone quit working. I read the reviews and didn't believe it could be that bad so I bought it anyway...it is that bad, don't waste your money.
Summary: The unit sat in storage for a while (it was a gift). Then, after a little over a year of use, it stopped working altogether. With so many complaints, there's no use buying a new logic board. But! It turns out that most failures are caused by a blown capacitor on the logic board (a very easy fix).
Summary: Hey, the ratings are correct. I bought two of the 12 and 1 of the 21-bottle units. The 12-bottle units each barely made it to the 1-year point, before shorting out. The 21-bottle unit almost did 2 years, before expiring.
Summary: I purchased this unit because it looks very nice. Brushed aluminum and a blue digital readout. 9 months after I receive the unit the lower zone went out.I called Vino-temp and they informed me that I needed a circuit board that cost $50.
Summary: I got this and about 10 others free. Replaced the cap on the electric ones from radio shack. I replaced with a the 35v 1000u one and been working every since. Forget vinotemp and buying bs board. Just make sure the cap is drained and the unsolder it.
Summary: I bought this unit a few years back. Worked well for about a year or so and then the unit died mysteriously one day. I called Vinotemp, they told me that they thought it was most likely a burnt out motherboard. I could purchase one for 40 bucks but the part was non-refundable.
