Summary: Had this unit installed in a brand new home a few years ago. Started failing just a bit over a year. Failed to keep things cold. Paid $150 dollars for a repair. It lasted about 6 months and now it is failing again. Danby needs to contact every person who bought one of these pieces of garbage and refund their money! Anyone who gave this good reviews has not owned it long enough yet. Just wait....
Summary: We choose this for our bar area to fit in with our cabinets. Loved the glass shelves and looked great in the bar. But it only lasted 3 1/2 years when the compressor went out and of course Danby only has a 1 year warranty. So it is either $500 to repair it or $1000 to replace with the same model after 3 1/2 years use. Guess I will be looking at other brands.
Summary: Bought the Danby under-counter beverage and wine cooler and it worked well for about two years, then the problems started. My unit will stop cooling on the wine side and will get too low on the beverage side. Once this starts, the unit will beep to let you know - and will not stop beeping. Good luck getting the unit serviced. The closest Danby repair tech is 90 minutes away and due to the distance, will not come to our house.
Summary: Agree with all other comments listed here. It's a great looking fridge and is great at the beginning but mine stopped holding temperature around the 3 year mark. No support at all from Danby. Spend the extra $$ and get a better brand. That's what I'm left to do now and wish I had spent the $$ 3 years ago.

Summary: This is my first review on Amazon (actually my second, since I posted this same text on the other Danby unit listed at Amazon), and I am only writing this to save everyone else the pain and suffering in buying what has amounted to a complete pile of useless China manufactured junk!!! My wife and I are on our second Danby Beverage center (the first one failed after 9 months, and it was like pulling teeth to get them to replace the unit..
Summary: Nice looking and fit the space in my island...BUT>>>> For $800.00 plus, I would expect to get more than 5 years out if this. Was noisy from the get-go and always ran "hot". Died 5 years in and the company was TERRIFICALLY UNRESPONSIVE to requests for technical help (i.e. trying to identify if the unit is salvageable with a new thermostat or compressor).
Summary: Spent about $800 on this unit 4 & 1/2 years ago. Looked great and fit our space perfectly. Has always operated on the "loud" side, but considering our other options (at the time) were over $1,000, we lived with the noise (not like it was in our bedroom!). But just 4 & 1/2 years later, the compressor is shot and we're looking at a $300 repair bill. We'll just purchase the Frigidaire for $399 instead.
Summary: I've had this beverage center for about 2 months now, and it looks great, but my major issue with this unit is the fan runs for about 20 seconds, stops for 10 seconds, and then on again, and it will continue to cycle like that, no matter how cold it is set at. It is incredibly annoying. I'm not sure if it's just my particular unit, I will be calling into Danby to see what they say about this.
Summary: We had the Silhouette less than a year when it started getting loud and would no longer hold it's temperature. We called for warranty service but because it was a new home and it had been in the home 6 months longer, Danby wouldn't cover it. We had the builder's receipt and the house purchase info but they didn't care. I pulled it out of the cabinet just to check that it perhaps didn't have some simple problem like an air obstruction on the fan.
